The camp of ScaleColony sits nestled between the trees on a small island. The island resides in a secluded forest lake, with abundant fish, bugs, other prey, and plants. The sun shimmers off the water, and the stars dance on the pool. The rustling of leaves fills the air, as do the sounds of so many other little lives going about here and there. Safety and compassion are prioritized with the copious resources available.

ScaleColony’s Formation
ScaleColony was formed after mass devastation. A moon’s travel away used to be home to three large Colonies. WingColony, DeepColony, and ThornColony. The sacred meeting ground, The Everway, was completely destroyed by an enormous monster. The clerics of the three Colonies inspected the mayhem and all became paranoid and sick, eventually leaving only the youngest cleric apprentice alive. Many cats began to believe and spread word that the Cats of the Stars were enraged and had abandoned the Colonies. The tension and struggling led to accusation and blame, and then a total war between the three Colonies. The losses and chaos resulted in the Colonies completely dissolving, and the cats left to fight for themselves. Most surviving cats have vacated the area, searching for new homes to join or create new Colonies, or just to live a different life.
Terms to Know:
Colony - group of cats living together under the Guardian’s Code
Cats of the Stars - the passed members of the Colony that speak through omens and visions to the living members of the Colony
Cats of the Veil - strange cats that exist in an inbetween as observers and occasional participants in different realities (self-inserts, non-canon relevant OC’s)
The Veil - the space between worlds (a physical fourth-wall)
Veil Wanderers - those that can travel or live in the veil (you, the reader)
Fel - non-binary-cat
Felle - she-cat
Feli - tom-cat

It takes all of Fringeglare’s considerable talent for such things to hunt down the lungwort within their borders. The cleric visits each likely nook and cranny in a carefully planned search pattern until, finally, those telltale speckled leaves are found.

Fringeglare: “Bites did actually! Is this what you were looking for? Spots on the leaves?”
Shinefish: “Ah, yes! Perfect, thank you, I know this took a deal of time.”

🦋 Would love to get some asks today regarding the cats’ familiars! I want to work out more who has what. Do some more assigning than I’ve already done. I want to involve them more in the comic, and I feel like this will help me get them even more fleshed our as a concept. :3 🦋
