It's that time again! Time to celebrate the mischievous alien that helped spread 'ohana to the world! With a recent new animated short, a new theatrical short film coming later this year, a new How NOT to Draw episode, new merch, and of course, plenty of fan art of the little blue genetic experiment, there's many reasons to celebrate Experiment 626. (Even in light of recent loss of the iconic voice of his best friend.) So let's celebrate Stitch and the memories that he, Lilo, and their 'ohana gave us on this 6/26/26! (Also, the only time this century we're going to celebrate a "Double Stitch Day"; gotta love how it's palindromic today! 😜)

Happy Angel Day! 🌺🎶👽

Angel's been having a banner year with new animation appearances hitting us like a comet including the "Glitter Glide" song and music video and now Stitch & Angel's Perfect Summer Day! She also made her Disney Lorcana debut with Winterspell back in February.

This alien siren just keeps charming her away into fans' hearts. Keep on swaying through the night with those stars in your eyes, Angel! You're so intergalactic!

Disney has a new two-minute animated short featuring Stitch and Angel to celebrate the boojiboos for Stitch Day/626 Day this week!

Stitch & Angel's Perfect Summer Day has been uploaded to Disney+ and YouTube today for Angel Day/624 Day! The short will also make its TV premiere on Disney Channel on June 26 as part of a Lilo & Stitch marathon featuring Lilo & Stitch: The Series and the original 2002 Lilo & Stitch film. There will also be a new How NOT to Draw episode featuring Stitch that day.

Well, admittedly, it's still not quite so happy knowing that this film was the last time the late Daveigh Chase voiced Lilo (the later release of the episode "Link" notwithstanding), but to see that the entire complete original Lilo & Stitch saga is now two decades old is still something to behold. Leroy, despite being a red unreformed Stitch doppelgänger limited to just his debut film in the original canon, has nevertheless become beloved in his own right. He's even been making inroads on the merchandising front in recent years! (Pops! Pins! Plushies!)

Speaking of which, it's been recently revealed that he's even coming to Disney Lorcana in 2027!

It is tragic to hear that Daveigh Chase, the original voice of Lilo Pelekai in Lilo & Stitch, has died at the young age of 35 yesterday after having recently being hospitalized for meningitis.

Chase proved to be a young talent through roles such as Samara Morgan in modern horror classic The Ring (which won the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain), Samantha Darko in cult classic psychological thriller Donnie Darko (and its sequel focusing on her character S. Darko), Rhonda Volmer in the HBO series Big Love, and providing the voice of Chihiro "Sen" Ogino in the English dub of the Academy Award-winning anime film Spirited Away. However, it was her iconic voice role as young Hawaiian orphan girl Lilo, which she earned in 1998, that defined her talents. Her unusual mixture of deadpan dialogue, expressions of an odd thought process, and emotional vulnerability of the little girl who adopts and befriends a superpowerful, destructive artificial alien life-form won over audiences and critics, with Chase winning an Annie Award for Outstanding Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production. Chase continued to the voice the character in later sequels including Stitch! The Movie, Lilo & Stitch: The Series, and Leroy & Stitch, which continued to showcase her talents as the quirky little girl with a big heart for her ever-growing 'ohana.
