“Looking back at it now, I can’t help but feel sorry. I apologize for giving you a love so strong it hit you just as how the waves crash into the shore — beautiful yet so overwhelming in its strength. I feel sorry you don’t feel deserving of it, so you did what you do best: pushing those who love you away. Most of all, I feel sorry for myself. I apologize to my younger self for letting her believe there was something so repulsively wrong with her that she could offer her entire heart on a silver platter and you’d still refuse it. I feel sorry I let her believe she was too much when you just couldn’t handle her in all her being. Because she wasn’t too much, you just weren’t enough.”
