Stuff that always gets me
Yes please
I am the red one in the first picture.
Victor Frankenstein: I’ve created life but I refuse to put any effort into helping that life develop. I won’t teach him, love him, or defend him even though I forced him into existence with a fully operational adult brain lol. Peace, bitch.
The Monster: Am Eloquent Baby
Boomers: He’S NOt thE ViCtIM, HE’s tHe MOnsTEr
An ironic parallel considering the idea of “tough love” parenting that plenty of boomers like to use. If they buy into the idea that their kids just have to toughen up and face the real world without guidance or emotional support, I’m sure it does scare them to read a story where someone who wasn’t given any support began to resent their creator and turn on them.
it’s like that post that’s like ‘knowledge is knowing that frankenstein is the doctor; wisdom is knowing that frankenstein is the monster’. like the whole point of the post is that frankenstein’s monster is a victim of viktor frankenstein’s own monstrosity.
mary shelley did not lose her virginity on her mother’s grave just for people to misunderstand her best known work over a century later.
Best experience at Starbucks is when you say the names of two items and the customer says “what’s the difference?” because either 1) you get a chance to educate someone about coffee, which is fun as long as they’re interested or 2) you have a funny story to tell later about the idiot in the drive-thru.
Situation one:
Customer: hello, I’m not really sure what I want today. Do you have anything hot that tastes like caramel?
Me: Absolutely, caramel lattes and caramel macchiatos are both very popular drinks.
Customer: Oh, what’s the difference?
Me: Well, caramel lattes are made with milk over caramel syrup and espresso, and caramel macchiatos are made with caramel drizzle and espresso over milk and vanilla syrup. They both come hot or iced. :)
Customer: Thank you! I think I will try the hot caramel macchiato :)
Me: Okay, sounds good! :)
Situation two:
Customer: I want a latte.
Me: Okay, and would you like that hot or iced today?
Customer: What’s the difference?
Me: …
Me: One is……. hot……. and the other one is…….. iced.

The content I’m here for
who is he
God, I remember when I started sixth form (last two years of high school in the UK, seen as a more university style learning environment) and the teachers kept complaining about how quiet we were during lessons.
We wouldn’t talk. They’d tell us to do something and we’d just sit there quietly and do it, until eventually they just said “hey, guys, it’s okay to chat while you work!” and then everybody would start talking.
One teacher described it as creepy.
And I just remember thinking, what the fuck did they expect to happen? We’d all been taught from the age of four or five onwards that talking in class was bad. That if we did it, we’d be told off, or punished, or in some instances maybe the entire class would be punished along with us, just to make sure we really got the idea. It was a whole thing.
But now, because we were sixth-formers and therefore ‘grown ups’, we were suddenly expected to flip a switch and be able to talk as much as we liked? The whole reason we were in sixth-form was because we had worked hard, done well at school, and generally followed the rules— but still the teachers couldn’t understand why we didn’t just talk to each other.
Now I’m at uni, and seminar tutors are having a similar problem. People will talk in seminars, but a lot of them will insist on raising their hands and waiting to be called upon first. “Don’t put your hands up, just shout at me!” the guy keeps saying. But they keep doing it anyway.
Like, I really don’t know how to tell these people that you can’t train somebody to act in one way for over half their lives, and then suddenly expect them to start acting differently just because the expectations have changed.
I’m a teaching assistant at a university in the UK and something that struck me about our first years is how conditioned they are to ask for permission to do anything. In our classes you’re free to get up and leave any time you need to, but you still see students looking uncomfortable and nervously asking permission to go to the bathroom like they’re afraid they’re going to be thrown out.
Another huge problem is trying to get them to think around subjects and find solutions for themselves, because they’re so conditioned to just put their heads down and follow instructions step by step without thinking about it that when they hit independent work a lot of them are just completely lost. It takes months, sometimes years, to guide them back into the mindset of learning and thinking independently.
TL;DR Teaching kids that sitting quietly and doing as they’re told is the only way to get ahead creates a generation of young people who don’t feel comfortable thinking or acting for themselves, which is at best counterproductive and at worst insidious
Imagine someone liking you enough to talk to you (°o°)
Imagine someone liking you enough to ask you out on a date (°□°)
Imagine someone liking you enough to be in a relationship with you! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

So people are making different videos for you to use in uncomfortable situations!
The majority of the Uber ones mention in some way that they have your location on. Some you would pretend are messages someone left on your phone. Some have a script for you to follow along to on screen! Some are specific to who are calling you!
THIS IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT
So thanks to @officialah I fell in love with play Dead by Daylight and I just found out something today that I have to share in case anyone else is interested and didn't know yet but DBD is coming to mobile devices sometime this year supposedly around the spring time. I believe it's already out in some locations as the beta but I'm so pumped I've pre registered online and my understanding is the more people who do so earns everyone special characters and more items in general.
