yes, you told him you were about to start your heat days prior, already about that ambiguous period of your cycle and knowingly deep into mating season, but you didn’t have to; he saw it by the way you woke up this morning as if you’ve shedded your peeled skin and woke up anew. the way you lunged towards the sheer blue curtains and poured more light into the room and onto your skin despite him not being ready, how you sighed as though you felt the sun dripping into your pores and rejuvenating your entire complexion despite his soft groans. smelled it lingering in the air like freshly baked strawberry pie.

the omega knew of your need for nature, how you willingly lean more into your primal instincts and let it all take over your entire sense of being. something underneath your skin crawls, itching for any sort of groundings, innate feelings and raw instinct — a sense of longing for your hands to meet the greenest grass or for your languid frame to lay over the fluttering flowers and just rest there.
