Saturnine

Saturnine is an English word that describes a gloomy, bitter, dull, moody and melanchonic person or setting. More archaically, it can be used to describe something related to Saturn, the sixth planet of the Solar System, most known for its picturesque rings and a record number of moons.

It's also an Interactive Fiction project about androids.

In Saturnine, a text-based game written in ChoiceScript, you take the role of a rogue android traversing the moons of Saturn in a bizarre world 1207 years into our future. Survival is difficult, with only a handful of allies to help you withstand the wrath of humanity, but perhaps there is hope for a better future. Perhaps some of your enemies can be made into allies, if not something more, and perhaps the Kronian Federation will grant clemency to your group of outcasts if you only do them one little favor...

The story has recently been published by Hosted Games.

Not at the moment. My current projects are both told from human perspectives and are (at least for now) fairly grounded compared to Saturnine. My vague ideas for other stories will have to wait.

I was inspired by hatred. Every word of Saturnine contains more spite, loathing and rancour that the likes of AM could ever comprehend. Every minute spent on writing it was a transcendent experience, a symphony of rage and malice, heralding my rise to profane apotheosis. It is an expression of pure enmity toward every idea I ever despised, and a shining masterpiece of vitriolic fiction.

I love the characters. I love the idea of playing non human characters! The fact that you could change your gender after charging is so cool, even though I didn't use it. We need more games that allow you to play non human characters. Though I might be biased as they are my favourite. *I'm already one on day to day basis*

I love your explanations and descriptions. They were so good. And the library on Calypso *г* I'm a huge lore whore, and I loved it so much. Despite replaying to read all the books. I enjoy demos more than published games, because of the save system ㅜㅜ but your world is so amazing! I'd read/play/watch anything in it! I cannot stress how much I love it and how lucky I'm to know it. It brought me an immense amount of joy for which I'm greatful.

I love Hadaly, my cutie:3 and the bodygard. And our shared misanthropy with Sheila. Though my favourite of them all was Olivia. I know she's isn't the mc, but I generally enjoyed our every interaction. I wanted to ask her description ...sorry if it's stupid. How big she is? I doubt she's small like our daily octopi, but is she around the same "height" as we all are? Did she looks like an ordinary octopus or anthropomorphic in a way?

Also, despite me trying to be all "kill humans"/"I hate organics" I enjoy Lisa! I wanted to run away with her in the end♡ Strangely, the highest relationship stat I had was with organics~~

And one more question, if it's alright. In the "canon" run I sided with Daxia in the end and then run away. Woke up in some dump near a statue to the metas. So, was Dusk successfully released and did Daxia's plan come to fruition? The statue confused me. They (the trio) must have been successful in stopping the Dusk if it were erected in their name?

And I wanted to highlight what I love the most is there were no bad choices in your game! Really appreciate it, could fully roleplay to my heart desire *lots of love*

RE Olivia: I'm not sure what you'd consider "our daily octopi" since there are many species of various sizes. Olivia is on the larger side, like the giant pacific octopus, though she's not nearly as tall as other characters and not at all antropomorphic.

Saturnine: Scrapped is a list of planned features that didn't make it into the final version of Saturnine. Some of them were fully coded-in and had to be scrapped, others were merely ideas that never saw the light of day.

Hi. I've been quiet for a while, in part because my computer recently broke down. Just before it crashed, I set up several polls to see what choice players made while playing my interactive novel.

I wanted to let you know that your game Saturnine is being distributed online in fully unlocked versions, so anyone can play the entire game without paying. Some versions also include mod menus to boost stats, but the main issue is that the full game is freely available.

I thought you should be aware of this situation, even if there’s nothing you can directly do about it.

Unfortunate, though I can't say I'm shocked. Pirating ChoiceScript games isn't exactly a hard task.

MC just ran away from the events on Rhea, we get to the epilogue, and West tells us that Meta Trio are MIA. However, during the birthday party, the game goes as if Lisa is here on the station. Like this passage

""Okay, I admit, your guys know how to have fun even without moonshine," Lisa says, once she's done chewing on her own piece of cake. "Still, I wish there was some music. You have a radio in your room, right?"
