Stonewall 50: WorldPride NYC 2019
The 2019 Gay Pride March took off at noon on Sunday, June 30th at the intersections of 26th Street and 5th Avenue. Over 150,000 participants marched south on 5th Avenue before turning west on 8th Street. Once across 6th Avenue, the parade proceeded down Christopher Street. I was there to shoot the parade like every year. This year the NYC Pride was special because WorldPride was being held for the first time the United States and it marked the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, and a half-century of LGBTQ+ liberation.
