“what do you mean?”

“i mean how much longer are you going to have me chasing after you until i can finally have you?” he sighs and shakes his head. “i know it’s hard to commit to someone, but instead of just leaving me waiting, at least let me go.”

and for once in your life, now you understood what it was like to be on the other side. your whole life you’d been running, looking back to see you were still being chased, until you weren’t. now you look back and see no one else behind you. now you’re the one left chasing after no one because he’d already left you in the dust.

you still had his number, typed out countless texts you’d never send because why would you? why disturb him now that he’s moved on? he did spend so many years going after you.
