I have never broken my leg Or sprained an ankle Or had cancer I don't know what ADHD feeelsnlike I don't understand what it feels like to have a panic attack I can't tell you how it feels to have your own body fight itself I don't know what it's like to lose your mother I don't know how it feels when you lose a child Or get divorced Or what it feels like to be famous But I can tell what depression feels like You're sad when you have absolutely no reason to be do you feel like crying for no reason it feels like you have an anchor attached your ankle and you have a key in your hand but you can't find the effort to pin down and put it in the lock depression feels like a battle going on in your mind little voices in your head tell you everything you're doing wrong can you look in the mirror you see nothing but the bags under your eyes and the redness The scary thing about depression is that you can come up at any time and it doesn't happen to certain people anyone can feel depressed it's not a special illness it's what causes people to in their lives to make bar graphs on their skin is the reason that makes you feel so small inside Those voices in your head tell you lies how easy it would be to just disappear how no one will miss you It feels like someone wakes up every day and tries to stab you over and over again with a black spoon or a monster truck trying to do wheelies on your four head And even though I know what depression feels like I'm trying to figure out how to live with it and I can't tell you much There are good days there are days I look in the mirror and love the color of my eyes there are days I look at my friends remember how I'm so lucky to have people who care about me so much I come home and I pet my dog I come home and I listen to music come home and I do my homework and I go back to school and I could good grade I know what depression feels like but I'm slowly learning how to fight it I'm trying to not take advantage of the air I breathe and I am trying to make my scars stories of my battle because every day I gets a little bit easier And I know that eventually I will be okay The biggest lesson I hope you take from this problem is that it's OK not to be OK it's OK to ask for help and you're drowning because you never learn how to swim by yourself that's what lifeguards are here you don't have to talk to a therapist you don't have to talk to your mom you don't have to talk to your friends about it but you do have to make sure that it's out in the world and not in your head because because you're human and we can only take so much before we explode To find a reason to still be whether it's a joke or the look he seeing someone else's eyes or do you have an essay due in English class tomorrow you always have a reason to still be here but remember that eventually it won't be those things that keep you here Afk

I don’t always like my body but when I do I will never apologize for feel beautiful because everyone in my life has taught me to love who I am I will never apologize for taking my life into my own hands I will never pass up an opportunity to make you smile because I know telling you a corny joke helps you way more than telling you to get over it I will never feel bad for my mistakes did they are what made me who I am today I will never try to make someone feel less then worthy of the air they are breathing My poems may not rhyme and I might never love my body all the time but at least I know that this is not a crime So never expect someone to mirror your expectations of perfect do not ask people to replicate your mistakes because that’s not how the world works And I will never be the one to tell you that it does

When I was little I was a stubborn baby in my moms stomach I used her ribs for monkey bars and her bladder as a trampoline I am one of my moms not treasured art project 4. If my heart stops beating everything on my Netflix cue is useless 5. Taco Tuesday 6. My friends 7. My family 8. My cat 9. The books I haven't read 10. The beaches I haven't gotten a sunburn at 11. The music I will miss 12. The movies I won't see 13. The pizzas I won't each 14. The people I won't meet 15. The cop I will never be 16. Missing a school play 17. The people I haven't met yet 18. The idea of finding someone who will laugh at my jokes 19. The museums I can't visit 20. The steps I won't see my friends take 21. The feeling of helping a complete stranger 22. My best friends depression 23. The unfinished books and play will never be written 24. My family 25. My family 26. Family 27. My fathers suicide success The worst feeling any human has ever experience has got to be what depression There is nothing worse than thinking that breathing is a burden There is nothing worse than thinking that you are so small nobody would matter if you disappeared People tell me I give really good advice but I never seem to take it The sun comes up every day but the moon is always out The corny jokes I find creates smiles in a otherwise shitty day I didn't want to come out of my mama stomach because I knew I wasn't done yet See my reasons might sound stupid to someone else but reason is the reason doesn't matter if the thing that keeps you here is a bubble a corny joke or the look you find in someone else's eyes the whole point of being alive is knowing that you can survive so any reason you have to stay alive where on your sleeve use it as a signature when you write your emails use it as your voicemail tattoo it to your arms Tape it to a mirror remind yourself on your phone do anything you can to hold onto the one thing that is keeping you here but don't hold onto strongly because eventually you're going to need to learn to walk on your own Whether it's 25 reasons on how to survive or one thing that keeps you going do not take advantage of the air that is coming in and out of your lungs Because eventually I won't be taco Tuesdays that keeps you here.

After you get angry you'll start to find bargaining chips around your house This is his favorite sweatshirt he has to come back for it Or He left his Dexter box set he never missed a rerun Or this book of funny chuck Norris jokes Turns out you're a bad gambler he doesn't come by the pick up the stuff Once you realzke that he won't come to get theses things he shouldn't be able to live without you start to finally give in to the sadness which is the beginning of depression Sitting around eating Oreos and popcorn Yelling at the screen when jack lets go they totally would've both fit on the door You stay up later every night You've given up on wearing mascara right now there's no reason to have black cheek strikes You feel sad and alone like you will never love again Everyone has gone through this Everyone no one goes through a breakup and is isn't ably okay you will never perfectly land on your feet you could break something The good thing is after you got through the shitty stuff you finally go through acceptance The side of the bed he used to sleep on is forgotten because you sleep in the middle now The anger has turned into indifference who cares if he's okay your going to be better You donated the sweater the box set and his shitty chuck Norris jokes You don't cry every time someone mentions the notebook You don't eat Oreos in sleeves anymore And you've found a really pretty mascara that makes your eyes brighter than ever before This is acceptance Knowing that you will love again is acceptance They say that going to break up with like going to the five stages of grief Denial anger bargaining depression and acceptance But this time your still breathing

Even though the laptop is a different way of expressing yourself there are going to be those people who want to make you feel like shit and it’s not gonna help if I just close the laptop because when I open it it’s still going to be there I’m not gonna stop doing when I do because of some negative comments but it gets to you even on Tumblr or what pad or Instagram or Facebook it’s still there kind of like your phone wallpaper it’s not going away and you can delete it but you’re not gonna forget it which is why cyber bullying is still a thing not because were people looking for attention because it’s something that we can solve not because were just complaining about something it’s there because it still going on it’s still happening it’s not gonna stop unless someone puts their fucking foot down Now I’m not saying that this post is going to change the world I’m not even seeing this post is going to make a difference in how you see what you type online it’s hurtful to other people but what I am saying to those people who think that cyber bullying can be fixed by closing a laptop is that you’re wrong - Addendum - To The people who hear close the laptop Don’t because you’re doing what you love whether it’s Tumblr or Instagram or Facebook or what but it’s going to get you down you can’t think about it all the time but you might want to and I know it’s hard but just remember that every time you post online about something that makes you feel happy there could be someone who needed to hear They are awesome that they’re beautiful and that they are human that’s the reason people don’t close the laptops and it’s one of the reasons why you should never close yours So thankyou for not shutting down your laptop -Srv
