I’m in damn disgust, but I’m standing up.

I’m tired of seeing women get taken advantage of.

You say “go to the kitchen and make me a sandwich, slut.”

If you can’t treat women right then you clearly aren’t man enough.

They say we’ve come a long way. It seems we truly haven’t.

If women are treated lesser, what have we, in truth, established?

If you don’t understand, then I’d ask you to imagine

Every day of your life as just another beauty pageant.

It’s ungodly, individuals only valued for their bodies.

Media oversexualization seems like the work of Nazis.

I hope that you can act right, and see the truth to be clear.

Women are beautifully dear,

Whether you believe in creation or evolution,

Whether or not you have faith in a god,

We were never taught how to be human.

Which means that we were never taught how to be flawed.

We had to become in order to be.

We had to derive, so we could discern.

We had to focus in order to see.

We had to make mistakes in order to learn.

We cannot ignore the wrongs of the past.

No matter from which age, era, or period.

We can only learn, and then we can last.

This is the human experience.

And in it…

I’ve dedicated my life to make a difference in others.

Spreading wisdom in numbers to help my sisters and brothers,

Because together there’s a secret we were meant to discover,

And it’s the meaning of life, because it isn’t to suffer.

It makes me sick to my stomach to see this generation’s demonstration

Of senseless hatred towards one another, discrimination

Of different races, men who only care to see women naked,

It divides us, and I think it’s time we assimilated.

The goal is to unite, never divide.

Let’s take what makes us different and we’ll set it aside.

Helping us guide are our intelligent minds.

If you’re saying any different then you’re telling a lie.

I’m telling you why, just in case you’re not sure

When we come together is the only time we prosper.

Let’s feud against oppositions that utilize competition

It’s truthfully honest wisdom.

I’m at the crossroads, and only God knows

Where to go from here. It’s so unclear that I’ve lost hope.

It fills my mind with questions.

Like, where’s the light that stretches

From the tunnel, a compass, to point me in the right direction?

Where is the Drinking Gourd, where is the Star of David?

If I don’t know where to go then does it matter how far I’ve made it?

I need guidance. I’m lost, and don’t know where to find it.

It’s like I’m blinded in blackest darkness and deadest silence.

But even if it seems life has taken my dreams away,

I’m not giving up, I’ll keep moving my feet today.

It hurts worse than what can be displayed, and the pain seeps away

As I face the mirror and proceed to say…

You are truly beautiful. I’m just going to be straight up

You do the same with makeup that Monet did with a paintbrush.

The only difference is he used blank canvas to craft his feats.

You’re already perfect, accentuating a masterpiece.

It’s an honest statement,

Looking in your eyes is like simultaneously gazing at every constellation,

As far as beauty goes, you’re the pinnacle of all creation.

Your body’s like the archetype for art when it is harmonized

With science like looking at Starry Night through Charles Darwin’s eyes.

Your beautiful voice is my music of choice.

‘Cause after hearing it, all else is sound pollution and noise.

When you sing, it’s so intimate; pain and pure innocence,

With euphony more soothing than any musical instrument.

It’s the glow of the sun being scared of the dark,

Your throat and your lungs turning air into art.

Every aspect of you is aesthetically pleasing.

An accurate description is difficult, but no one said it’d be easy

So I’m exploring language to cure my anguish

Of finding a way to compliment you truly worthy of your greatness.

I’ll create a new thesaurus

And describe you with words that no one’s ever heard of or has used before this.

I’ll create a lexicon,

And shout to the highest echelon, the pedestal you rest upon

How wonderful you are ‘til my breath is gone.

How everything about you is state of the art,

From the way that you walk, your body, mind, face to your heart.

I could go on forever, this is just the place where I start.

Do you ever wonder if there’s anything

Outside of this?

Do you ever wonder if there’s something that you

Might’ve missed?

Is there time to change it if you don’t even know

What time it is?

And in spite of this, is it something you can try to fix?

Doesn’t it feel like it’s the worst sort of torture,

To take a step towards it, but you never move forward?

Is this existence just a state of disorder.

With each day getting longer but life only gets shorter?

And I

Ask myself why

That I

I’m just a stranger walking on,

So if you happen to find me, don’t mind me.

I’m a vagabond wandering blindly

I’ve been traveling with the past dragging behind me

I’ve been up and down these alleyways

And I just count the days until I’ve found a place

That I can call my own, and I can finally go home.

In the winter I’m freezin’, and in the summer I’m sunburnt.

But through each of these seasons,

This one thought brings me comfort,

One day there will be a place that I can recover,

But until then I’m walking onward with my thumb upturned.

I don’t know where I’m headed,

And I don’t really have any sense of direction

But as long as I’m treadin’ on the ground I’m bound

To find a bed to lie my head in.

When it’s said and done and I’ve walked and run

Across every road under the sun, and done forgotten

What I’m running from, then here I come.
