Only four are left.  The tributes know what is coming.  It’s always the same.  The Finale.  The biggest and most exciting part of the games.  Every year the gamemakers come up with a sick way to draw all the tributes together for an epic final battle.  Ash lays in the grasslands.  His arm throbbing, and Mason’s face glued to the inside of his eyelids.  Ryder mourns Rommel and Carrie, alone in his anger and sobs.  Link and Lina are silent, as they comfort each other, after the loss of their two allies.

Finally, the ground starts to rumble, and the remaining tributes dread what is about to come.  Dust fills the air and none of the tributes can breath, see, or hear.  Finally, the arena falls silent.  The tributes open their eyes, coughing, and find themselves at the mouth of the cornucopia.  A hovercraft appears overhead, a medium sized box falls and crashes as it hits the land.  It bursts open reveals it’s contents, weapons.  Link see’s his boomerang.  A sword, knives, arrows, darts, everything.  Lina gulps, hiding won’t help her here.  Ryder is the first to run.  He kicks Link’s boomerang just as Link reaches it.  He punches Link, knocking him over, and leaving him with a bloody lip.  He scowls back at Ryder.  

“Mr. Tough guy huh?” He smirks.  Ryder glares at him.  Ryder reaches behind him, refusing to take his eyes off Link.  Before he can grab anything, Link lurches forward and throws him on the ground.  Link pins his shoulders to the grass.  “Not so tough now.”  He smiles.  Neither of them have any weapons.  It’s hand-to-hand, but Ryder has a broken wrist.  

“Did you kill her?”  Ryder asks.

“Who?”  

“Carrie.  Brown hair.  With Ash and Red.  Did you kill her!?”  Ryder demands.  A tear rolls down his face.  “WELL?”  He screams.

“Yes!”  Link yells back.  “I did it.  Why?  What are you gonna do about it?”  He laughs.  Ryder pushes Link off of him.  Link, caught off guard, stands, furious.  He looks to the side, catching a glimpse of his boomerang and smiles as he makes a break for it. Picking it up, he smiles as he runs his fingers along its razored edge.  He throws it towards Ryder, who attempts to dodge it.  The boomerang slices off his ear.  Blood drips down the side of his face and he screams in pain, and anger. The boomerang swings back around and lands in Link’s hands.

Ash focuses on the pile of weapons, knowing his only chance is to fight one handed with the axe. He is grateful for its reappearance, though; he had not enjoyed Mason’s death and was in no hurry to ever repeat it. Ash runs to the pile of weapons, pulling out only the axe before retreating quickly. He knows that one way or another, this was the beginning of the end. Ash sets his sights on Lina, and charges her as she picks up the hatchet. He knocks her to the ground, and takes a swing at her throat, Lina rolling out of the way just in time. Seeing Link occupied by Ryder, he doesn’t let Lina’s lucky escape knock his confidence. He swings again, but she is already on her feet, laughing as Ash misses for the second time.

“Looking a bit rusty there, Ash” she laughs as she sends her hatchet flying into Ash’s hip. He shouts in agony, but pulls it out and throws it to the floor. She quickly lunges at him, but he blocks her, managing to push her back a few feet with his left forearm stub. He saw Ryder and Link fighting close behind her, and knew he had to work fast.

After losing an ear, Ryder jerks his head around and sneers at Link. “Bring it on, mother fucker,” he shouts. Ryder is poised, ready to shoot a poison arrow. Link is up on both his feet now, winding up and tossing the boomerang at Ryder once more. This time it catches him in the face, slicing open his mouth, but not before Ryder had blown the dart into the air.

The dart soars past Link’s neck and he laughs, until he hears a gasp behind him. He spins around.  It had landed in Lina’s arm instead. Stunned, Link drops the boomerang and stares at Lina as the color leaves her face. She falls to the ground and Link screams in emotional agony. He turns to Ryder, who is breathing heavily and bearing the most evil grin on his now twisted and bloody face. He knows he has very little time to finish off Ryder before Lina is gone, and he has to say goodbye. Lina can’t breathe, she can’t do anything except die slowly as the poison and asphyxiation take their toll. Link lets out an angry roar, but Ryder doesn’t move except to widen his devious smile. He stays there, watching Lina die slowly. Gripping his sword, Link charges Ryder. He doesn’t even flinch when Link drives the sword through him.

“Revenge… it’s sickly, isn’t it?” Ryder manages to say as blood drips down the corner of his lips. The cannon booms as Ryder’s body falls to the ground. 

Immediately turning his attention to Lina, he ignores the presence of Ash. He drops his sword, kneels down beside her, and felt the tears well up. He failed yet again to protect someone that he loved. Lina was solemn, tearless, and completely brave. Link hovers over her, looking deep into her eyes, one if his tears drops on her dry cheeks. She blinks a few times and Link thought this was it… she was going to be gone soon. 

Suddenly, Link feels a blow to his shoulder and is knocked away from her. Looking up, he makes eye contact with Ash, who’d just chucked his battle axe at him. Link roars, intensely angry that Ash had interrupted him and potentially wasted his goodbye to Lina.

“You!” He growled, moving quickly towards Ash.  Link rips the axe out of his shoulder and sends it flying back towards Ash, who ducks just in time.  Link gets up, jumps over Lina, and lurches after him, who turns to run.  Ash reaches for his axe as he passes it, just inches away from his good arm.

Ash grips his axe tightly, bracing himself for death at the hands of the 12-scoring career. Ducking just in time, Ash avoids the first of Link’s blows, cutting his axe blade into the back of Link’s knee. He staggers but does not fall.

“This is for Carrie… and Crimson!” he calls after Link. Ash quickly spins around, hitting Link on the back with the flat side of his axe blade. His blow significantly weaker with a one-handed hold, Link yelps but once again remained standing. Ash had only just got to his feet as Link turns around and tackles Ash. Pushing, he forces Ash to the floor, causing Ash to lose control and drop his axe. Link smashes Ash’s face into the dirt and pins him down. Link holds Ash’s good hand down with his knee and wraps his hand around his neck. “This is for Mason, you filthy animal,” Link hisses as he digs his fingers into Ash’s neck. Link squeezes until he feels the warmth of blood as he tears through Ash’s neck. Ash chokes on his own blood and eventually stops struggling. Link gets up and flips Ash over, exposing the open gash in Ash’s neck.

A cannon goes off.

Link turns to Lina, who is still laying there, now trembling from the pain of the poison. He runs to her again, hoping that he’ll be able to save her somehow. He slams to the ground next to her, desperate to feel her next to him. She weakly reaches out for him and puts her hand on his chest. They stare into each other’s eyes again, Link’s tears returning. 

“I love you Link.” Lina whispers softly to him, but he can’t understand her.  Then she convulses and shakes, the poison taking over her body. 

“NO!” Link shouts. “No…” Her eyelids flutter. Link leans in and kisses her softly and he feels her kissing him back. He doesn’t remove his lips until the cannon booms. As he pulls away from her, his sadness turns into direct anger. He kneels on the grass beside her and screams, his voice echoing throughout the arena. He examines his boomerang that lays near her body.  He holds it in his hand and contemplates ending it right here. He feels the razor edge with his fingertips again, still covered in Ryder’s blood.

I have to admit when I first started this, I was a little apprehensive. It was daunting doing this the first time and after some meltdowns and fights with Link mainly, I decided what the hell and gave this my all.

To all of those who have made these games possible, I am sorry I didn’t get to know a lot of you until we meet in RP heaven.  Thank you all so much for giving me so many ships and feels that I went through a whole box of tissues. I love the GIFs, the love triangles, the carnage and the tears. You guys have made this the most amazing couple of weeks and I’m glad to have made this journey with you, I wish you all the best and hope we meet again!

Peace: You are actually the reason I first joined this, queue stalkerish tendencies, as I actually have followed your blog for ages. At one stage we were contemplating a ship, Pason, but with all the love around it was better to be our strange selves in the arena. I feel like you and I are now friend after me admiring you from afar; Peace was like the little sister Mason never had and your death affected him more than you know.

Sapphire: We didn’t talk a lot, but our late night rps and making Link jealous have been a highlight of these games! We will party it up in tribute heaven girlfriend!! You are amazing and I shipped Flock so hard, a gutwrenching day today has been with the death of Flock and Lison. I will go down with this ship! And now I definitely follow you :p

Lina: My pretty French lady! Our late night/early morning convos in the Career Alliance blog were the last thing I read at night which insured  insanity when I finally went to sleep. You are the last girl left my friend, rock that! And don’t rob any banks because you are so devastated due to my loss! Make sure you give Link hell in the arena, I tell you rolling around in lime green jello with no pants will win him over. I hope from now on you and I can be friends, team Awesome Lina!

Finally, Link: My brosef, my brOTP. Lison. The only ship to sink all other ships! I love you man! Plain and simple. I have loved our strange homo-erotic subtext in our RP, I have loved braiding your hair and trying to pinch your woman. I love that now when I see pictures of Andrew Garfield I automatically go, wtf…what is Link doing here. I’m sure that we will remain friends after this is over, mainly due to the fact that what are we going to do with all of those Friends, dance gifs and Andrew Garfield gifs I have hidden away? I want you to win, I thought you would from the start and now I am rooting for you all the way from Australia!

THE FALLEN

Sapphire… I will always love you…

I stand up while she’s talking. “Look I’m not stealing anyone’s boyfriend ok?! I don’t know if you noticed but I’m the one standing always alone here! So calm down!” I said harshly.

I feel the cold air on my body. I turn around and around trying to find where my sleeping bag is but I don’t find it. I open my eyes slowly and see I’m not in a sleeping anymore. I clearly remembered snuggling in there after I woke up in the middle of the night. I frown from frustration. I sit. 

I feel my head pounding inside. I close my eyes for a second trying to calm it down but it doesn’t help at all. I see Link, Sapphire and Mason on the other side of the Cornucopia. I stand and walk slowly over there. I remember the dream or more like the halucination I got during the night and I blush a bit. 

“Why are you acting like this? Stop Sapphire!” She just laid there, refusing to look at me. It was time for some tough love. “Sapphire, you’re acting like you did in front of Brett back in the Capitol. You need to stop. This is what they want to see… this is how we keep them entertained. Please Sapphire,” I begged her.
