I was able to score OTC hearing aids thanks to this - I've been fighting with the VA to get my hearing loss/tinnitus rated for over 2 years now (appeals are taking 3-5 years) so I have been hesitant to throw down on expensive hearing aids then have the VA come in and say 'Yes you can have them'. This let me get Jabra ones at a fraction of the cost. Granted one ear bud failed in August and I'm waiting for my warranty replacements, but that's another issue. This was big and made a lot of really good hearing aids available for as low as $2-300 compared to $1800 and up for prescription ones.
