'Agatha is just Billy's sidekick now!!'
What are you talking about?! She gets to be a mother!! To this kid that reminds her of her child! Who she's grown to care about!! Who doesn't blindly trust her, or blindly hates her, but at every turn has tried to understand her!! Really understand her.
Sometimes women are mothers and mentors, not because they have to or have been 'reduced' to it, but because they choose it, because they're good at it, because they love it!
Agatha is THE maiden mother crone! She's the spirit guide!! And thats so fucking cool, why would WE reduce her to just a sidekick???

Why Agatha killed witches
I've seen quite a lot of people wondering why exactly Agatha killed all these witches - to distract Death from Nicky? Or for power?, etc.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought it was strongly implied that when Nicky gets hungry (even as a baby) he'd only get satisfied and stop crying after Agatha killed witches. As if their life force was feeding him. When she meets that first coven in the woods, just after Nicky is born, she says to them "we haven't eaten in days" and Nicky is crying. And he only stops crying after Agatha killed them.
Later on, when he's older, he tells Agatha at one point that he's hungry and asks if she could cook something for him. Her answer was "I cannot heal your sickness", as if it wouldn't matter if she cooked anything for him, because that is not the sort of nourishment he needs.
So I think that Nicky needed the life force of other witches to survive. Maybe not fed to him directly in that sense, but Death needed to receive life in order to give life to him.
So Agatha didn't just kill to keep Death busy and distract her by leaving a line of bodies behind so Rio wouldn't come for her son. Nicky actually needed it to survive like food. In my opinion at least.
And after he died, Agatha probably kept killing because she had gotten used to the exhilarating feeling of sucking out the witches' life force and magic. I imagine it like a drug, that she's addicted to but that also makes her feel good for a moment when life is unbearable and she wants a distraction from the grief. It might have also given her a twisted sort of purpose in her existence. After Nicky's death she only had her love for Rio left. So she gave Death bodies.
Agatha is a spiteful jerk who always has to have the last word

Of course, it would have been nice for Agatha to have made it through the finale alive and well, rather than half-alive and ghosty. But I really do think that was a beautiful way to end her character's arc for this show.
Nicky died of natural causes. It was never anything Agatha did that caused his death. She couldn't act, couldn't do anything to change the outcome, she never had a chance. She always knew that Rio would be back.
That final moment with Rio and Billy, she was given a chance to act. To do something to save Billy. Once Billy said Nicholas' name, she realized that.
Despite being so close to Rio, she has also been running from Death for so long. I keep thinking about Jac Schaeffer saying that Agatha being so close to Death is almost a way to keep Death at arm's length. Her final act was to save Billy and honestly embrace Death without hiding.
AAA FINALE THOUGHTS
I’ve let it marinate in my mind and I can confidently say that (for the most part) I fuck with the AAA ending
Of course there are some bits I wish we got more of (I would have loveeeeed to see more emotion from rio/death) I know that she’s supposed to be stoic and impartial and all of that BUT how I would have loved to see more of the HUMAN side of death. Like in episode 4 — the emotionnnn
Not that mad about ghost!agatha I just hate that fuck ass wig lol
It’s very clear that both Agatha and Rio’s stories are not over, I just hope that means they get a bigger piece of the MCU future and aren’t just little side characters
My heart literally hurts thinking about the episode. Not because it was bad, but because it was so deeply tragic
I wish we had more clarity on the darkhold bit and what agatha was trying to accomplish — was she ultimately trying to bring nicky back? like what was she getting at… in the end it seemed she was scared to see him? guilty?
At first I was like… they didn’t work through shit?! but upon further examination I think it was all through subtext and metaphors and bullshit. Things are still unresolved with rio and agatha for sure, but that’s kinda the nature of their relationship
I think the kiss (while a calculated risk taken by agatha, apparently) was closure in a way. That she knows this is rio’s job and she’s not fighting it. The kiss was forgiving. it was angry. it was desperate. it was an end to the cat and mouse game that they had been playing for centuries — acceptance, in a way
I like that billy and agatha are teaming up but what about finding tommy makes them think this whole thing won’t happen again? like is rio just gonna be cool with another body soul swap sitch?
I don’t know how likely this is but I NEED agatha to get a human form again and have her comic accurate silver stripe in her hair. and then she and rio can ACTUALLY have a conversation on the same playing field or whatever… working past the hate… giving us some affection/healing between the two. THEN I need agatha to be the mentor of the young avengers. her new coven. PLEASE. LET HER MAKE NICKY PROUD AND STOP RUNNING FROM HER PAST (AND DEATH)
