how to take out pages from a composition notebook NEATLY!
in case you never learned this in school, it is indeed possible to take out pages from a composition notebook without ripping the paper or obliterating the seam, and itβs easier than you think!
all you need for this is the notebook itself, a ruler/sharp edge, and a knife (x-acto is ideal, but i just got mine from the kitchen lol).
open up the notebook and line the ruler like thisβ¦
turn the page and hold it down along the rulerβ¦
take the knife and line it along the top of the page like soβ¦
now hold down the page as you make your cut along the edge. be careful not to cut directly in the middle or else the threading will be damaged. leave a little distance, but try to cut as close to the middle as possible as the edges will come out less jagged.
youβll probably need to trace along this cut multiple times, because the goal is to tear the page away with your hands as smoothly and gently as possible using the cuts/idents. try not to apply too much force in cutting or tearing though!
and voila! the page is free from its former binds! notice how the edges arenβt too jagged and we managed to avoid rips or seam damage.
if the page you need to take out is further into the notebook, you can still use these exact steps, although you will have to be a little more careful. but the ruler will help avoid further pages from being cut.
once youβve taken everything out, you can save and store the pages cut out if necessary, and use the notebook for a whole new purpose! and that, my friends, is conservation and efficiency at its finest. :)
