got hawthorne heights?

when i got there, Sarai, the vip coordinator, handed us our vip laminates (no lanyard tho…). someone commented in the Obscene amount of sparkles and sarai said “That’s a Jt design,” which totally tracks😭 there are so many sparkles u can barely read the thing but at least it looks pretty cool when the sunlight hits…

the bus was actually pretty small on the inside, at least in the main lounge area… i sat right across from jt and even tho he was wearing sunglasses i was freaked out a little making eye contact with him for so long😭

a couple people were late and when they walked on the bus jt said “WHERE WERE YOU?!……… just kidding” what a silly fellow…

i asked if he knew wtf the lyrics micah screamed are in Taken by the Dark and he said he didn’t know but he’d give it a listen and “send some dms to old members” so Yaaaay :] idk how he’s planning on telling me tho…

jt said they have no tour booked for the rest of the year so far :(

they performed a new song on acoustic called Wreckage! i really liked it… just classic hawthorne heights imo

someone asked how they got their name and i THOUGHT they were just gonna say “Matt came up with it” but what matt actually said was that he had wanted to start a pop punk band (i don’t actually remember if that’s the genre he said) with casey and decided on the name hawthorne heights for this hypothetical band. but then casey joined A Day In The Life and when they were changing their name casey stole the name hawthorne heights from matt… and then matt joined the band and found out it was called hawthorne heights. he joined his own band. casey will live on in my mind as a mischievous scoundrel for this and many other reasons

Jt said Hot Mulligan is a Strange band name… and on the topic of band names he Basically said No Shade to mcr but their name is very Dated and Of the Time and Hawthorne Heights is more timeless. i Wholeheartedly disagree and i feel like hawthorne heights is one of the most Emo Band names i have ever heard but to each their own… maybe im biased

after the Bus Portion of vip we went back outside for autographs and a Picture… jt Looked at my shirt and said That’s an Old Shirt… that’s from 2005 the Sum 41 tour… like didn’t skip a fucking beat either… i knew his memory was crazy but holy shit Man that was 20 years ago and u brought it back so fast

they signed my a day in the life cd and seemed very Impressed… Mwahahahaha

when we took the group photo Sarai said “Say Emo!” and everyone was like Emooooooo because that’s what u do when someone tell you to say a word while they’re taking your picture. you drag it out. unless your name is jt woodruff. then you say it for the least amount of time humanly possible like a cheeky fucker… i Love him…. i’m Normal…

to all my irl friends i am very Known for my Wave. i will frantically wave hi to people passing me even if we’ve already said hi or i’ve already waved at them. i just do it it’s fun and it’s kinda become my thing. every time i’ve seen hawthorne heights and they’re setting up for their set i give jt one of those waves and he acknowledges me Cuz im at barricade and it fills my heart with so much Joy and Whimsy and Love and Light to think that this band might also eventually recognize me by my frantic waves if i see them enough times… last week it Looked like jt did a kitsune at me but it was probably just the regular rock n’ roll thing… but i will pretend it was a babymetal reference for my Sanity

i was second row for the openers but one of the Many beautiful Emo Girls i had met let me switch spots with them for HH’s set and i am so thankful for that because i was really Front And Center… i only recorded two videos because i was just going absolutely fucking crazy. like So Crazy. i gave myself whiplash and Still have neck pain #Worthit

jt said the crowd blew NY night 1 out of the water already when we were like 3 songs in and then he said “i guess all the Real Fans came out tonight…” i know he wasn’t talking Just about me but it felt like he was talking to me……

i kept thinking they were gonna play niki fm because all their songs sound the same and i was trying to guess by the intro what the songs were gonna be… jk they don’t all sound the same but they sound pretty fucking similar😭

i went to the merch table to buy a shirt and then i went back cuz i forgot a picture with jt and then i went back AGAIN because i caved and bought the sweater i said i wasn’t going to get because it was ugly but then they had that design behind them on the screen during their set and i got emotionally attached… it came with a signed setlist which i’m convinced they only added because those sweaters were NOT selling😭 unless they were doing the setlist thing the whole tour in which case forget i said anything…
