   it's  loud,  the  thud  of  ghost  sinking  into  the  chair.  the  next  thing  that  makes  a  thud  is  his  head  connecting  hard  with  the  table  he's  sat  at.  the  act  is  followed  by  a  long,  low  groan.  brown  eyes  close  in  clear  discomfort.  it's  not  a  mystery  for  long,  as  he  grumbles  audibly  over  the  predicament. 

   “neva  le'in'  anyone  talk  me  int'  sushi  again.” 

   going  out  for  sushi  has  left  him  with  the  realization  he  has  a  mild  allergy.  with  trying  as  much  as  he  did?  he  has  no  idea  what  caused  it. 

   “oh,  believe  me,  i  do.  i  thought  long  and  hard.  kinda  like  my  cock.”

   “you  aren't  a  robot.  you  got  holes.  fuckable  ones.  problem  solved.  bend  over,  babe.”

   “…deeply  considering  moving  the  total  death  of  the  universe  and  all  in  it  to  right  now.”

   walks  out.

   there's  a  very  very  long  pause.  war  regards  her.  he's  quiet.  unnaturally  quiet.  he  thinks,  before  inclining  his  head.  his  eyes  widen,  and  then  the  grin  forms.  dark.  amused.  he  leans  down,  the  smirk  unmistakable. 

   “ah.  so  you  are  into  me.”

he's fucking proud of it too. preens every time. like a loser.

   “i  see  why  famine's  got  his  claws  sunk  in  him.  if  famine  hadn't  got  there  first;  maybe  i  would  have  broken  my  streak  and  taken  hold  of  him.  but,  then  again,  they're  uniquely  fitting  for  each  other.  the  combativeness?  i  would  want  to  eventually  crush  it  under  my  heel  into  subservience,  while  famine  feeds  it.”  he  smirks,  wide.  “i  would  have  wanted  him  crushed  and  a  pretty  little  toy,  while  famine  makes  him  worse.  makes  them  both  worse.  famine's  more  entertaining.  doesn't  mean  i  can't  slide  in  now  and  again  and  cause  issues  for  them.  life's  dull  without  a  little  war  in  it,  no?”  his  lips  purse,  and  he  drums  fingers  on  his  thigh. 

   i  would  fuck  him  right  into  the  next  century  given  the  opportunity.  i  should  make  the  opportunity.

   “i  never  imagined  a  robot  would  catch  my  delight.  this  chaotic  little  thing…  yet  filled  with  so  much  violence.  as  if  created  by  me.  perhaps,  in  some  way,  it  is.  i  suppose  i'll  have  to  keep  watching  and  staying  near  it.  maybe,  just  maybe,  it  might  start  to  see  me  like  a  patron.  in  the  most  literal  sense  -  i  am.”

   if  i  were  to  have  true  children  -  this  is  how  i  would  want  them  to  be.  …i  am  by  no  means  the  fatherly  type.  why  do  i  want  to  be  in  that  role  for  it?

   “feisty  fucker.”  he  laughs.  “but  that's  half  the  fun,  isn't  it?  delightful.  i  think  i  might  just  start  to  tempt  that  one.  spoils  of  war  are  mine,  after  all.  i  have  so  many  beautiful  things  to  drape  over  my  conquests.  i  could  have  her  around  my  finger,  if  that  weakness  for  pretty  things  stands  true  in  her.  i  deserve  something  like  her,  after  all.”

   i'll  find  a  way  to  fix  that  body  of  hers.  this  one  should  be  my  plaything.  it  makes  sense.

   “i  do  so  fucking  despise  god  and  all  those  who  flock  to  the  useless  figurehead.”  and  yet…  “why  does  he  call  to  me?  why  do  i  need  my  hands  around  his  neck?  why  do  i  need  to  claw  out  his  insides  and  carve  a  place  in  him  that  is  just  me?”  he  growls,  low  in  his  throat.  “i  despise  it  -  but  i  don't.”  he  scoffs.  “isn't  it  all  so  fucking…  tragic?”  for  him.  “i  have  never  felt  so  much  rot  in  my  veins  as  i  do  here  and  now  with  him.  i  should  hate  him;  but  he's  under  my  skin  as  i'm  under  his.  how  i  let  that  happen  -  that  is  my  failure.  and  he  is  going  to  be  my  consequence.” 

   and  one  day  i'll  fight  death  when  he's  taken.  i'll  force  my  own  brother  to  hold  me  down  and  rip  me  physically  apart  over  him.  it's  not  worth  it  -  but  i  don't  have  a  choice  anymore.  is  this  god  punishing  me?  no.  it's  my  own  doing.  it  has  to  be.

   “it  would  have  been  easier  had  you  never  crossed  paths  with  us.  you  should  have  never  shown  yourself.  now  you'll  die  and  i  will  have  to  hold  you  in  my  arms  as  you  pass  so  none  of  them  stop  it.  so  famine  doesn't  try  to  stop  it.  and  i'll  have  to  deal  with  your  aftermath  and  what  you'll  do  to  our  equilibrium.  it's  a  festering  wound  that  i  don't  want  to  cauterize  -  one  i  should  not  have  to  cauterize.” 

   i  don't  see  it.  i  don't  see  why  you're  worth  more  than  just  any  other.  you're  not  special.  you  will  die  too.  you  will  blink  out  as  if  you  never  took  a  breath  -  and  it  will  be  your  own  fault.  arrogance  from  you  and  your  ilk.  and  i  will  have  to  be  patient  with  you,  despite  how  irritating  to  my  existence  you  will  become  in  the  end.
