Just to give a backstory. My gf and I have been dating for about 2 years. She’s very shy and quirky, a little bit naive cause her parents are hugely overprotective, so at times I like mess with her a little. Just give her a hard time cause I love her you know? lol

Anyways. We’re going out to dinner last night. Fancy place here in KY, I put on my nice collared shirt, she wears this sexy little dress. Well she wants to try to drive my manual pickup and I think it’ll be a hoot so I say why not. We jump in and she kills it the first time. Which isn’t bad, but when she does it again she gets down on herself and wants to quit. I talk her into going again and we get outta the driveway. Then we’re outta the culdesac and by the time we hit the highway she’s cruising along with a big smile.

Here’s the fun. Yet painfully horrid part. Me: “Ya know these model trucks have got a special gear.” wink wink

Her: “Oh really?”

Me: “Oh yea. See the R gear? That’s the Racing Gear. Once you get to fifth, and you really wanna go, just slam it into that one and you’ll take off.”

Her: “You’re screwing with me…”

I just laughed and we kept driving along.

Well… five minutes later I look over and she rips that damn gear shift down like an angry antifa pulling down a pro-trump sign. You can guess the rest, my truck spits screams and shits out the transy like bad Indian food. So now I’m stuck at home today. Missing work, probably gonna miss most of next week too, probably gonna get fired. No longer have a vehicle. My gf is pretty pissed at me. Gotta pay a fortune in towing. Life is good. Life is good.

Goddamn am I an idiot

TL;DR played a childish joke on my gf and she threw my truck into reverse leading to its imminent death.
