BORN IN ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA, with humble origins, oz greenwood had always been an artistic child with big dreams. spending much of his time skating, dirt biking, learning guitar, and more importantly, filming his friends doing those things, his parents were more than happy to have a child who had a seemingly nondestructive outlet for a hobby. his self-proclaimed "mostly uneventful" childhood was filled with incessantly scraped knees, calloused fingers, and a slouch developed from first learning to develop film, then editing on computers.
after two years in community college, oz then transferred out of state to the art institute of seattle, where he met DANNY CRAVEN, AARON DUKE, and ERIC LACER, who were in the throes of working out what thieves could be: all they needed was another guitarist. featured on their first EP, rain in july, their first studio recording, growing pains, and a history of bad decisions, while oz enjoyed the music, he quickly came to realize that he much preferred to be behind the camera.
amicably stepping away from the band ( and being the first member the first to step away from thieves ) , he first settled into the music scene in seattle, mostly working on band photography, and then branched out to more creative projects: in 2023, he was the art director for thieves' album in bloom, creating almost every visual that went along with the album's release and music videos. he currently resides in los angeles, california, where he balances photography and works with various bands on the visual aspects of their creative process. he is most known for his bright, oversaturated colors and almost surrealistic, alice in wonderland-adjacent style.
