Another gouache painting a did a few weeks ago. Some cute moonstone worshippers! Size 6.5x5"
I've been playing around with gouache a lot lately, making small 6.5x5" paintings. It's so much fun and keeps me feeling creative. Here's a little cat portrait I did yesterday!
Feeling in the Halloween spirit already (it's never too early). Check out this new embroidery on my esty shop! samwiebkin.etsy.com
Was inspired to do a #fireworks themed piece for today and my mind kept wandering to #ruby and #sapphire, the perfect fusion. 🎆#stevenuniverse #garnet #gouache #fourthofjuly
I’ve been working a lot lately, usually over 50 hours a week. It’s mostly my fault since I’m terrible at saying NO, but I want to get better. In the mean time, I’m feeling pretty stressed.Â

A tiny #gouache portrait of my succulent. It's so weird and tall, I love it 💗🌱

update
It's been ages since I've posted anything! I've been incredibly busy so far this year. I got a second job working at my local libraries (so much fun, I love it) and I moved into my first apartment with my boyfriend (yay!). I've had hardly any time to work on projects and just trying to keep up my etsy stocked can be a struggle. Between the two jobs and my art, if I didn't have a day planner I'd probably lose my mind.
But now that I'm finally settled into my apartment I've started some new embroideries (and bringing back some old) that I'm hoping to post to my shop within the week. I'm also working on a different project: painting alt art on Magic cards. I've got a huge commission (30 cards!) that eats away much of my time, but it's worth it!
I'm really looking forward to what the rest of the year has in store. I'm hoping my schedule opens up more once I finish the alt art commission so I can really dedicate my time on making more embroidery pieces!
And thanks to all you who follow my blog or my etsy, and support me! I hope your year has been fruitful and that you all can find the time to do the things that you're really passionate about.
Best,
Sam
Feeling under the weather so I’ve been watching A LOT of Sailor Moon. I wish I had Luna around to talk some sense into me when I’m being irrational.
This embroidery piece is up on my etsy shop now.Â
