I made a new yumeship blog based on my Blinkomania Yumeship!!
If you want to check it out, it’s @samtimes2
There isn’t much, I mean- I JUST made it, so uh, yeah
But I might as well explain the lore of my yumeship! And provide a story lol
For context, Sam and Sam are both starting their first year in college. They have an enemies to lovers relationship.
The first thing Sam noticed about his college roommate was that he looked annoyingly comfortable.
While Sam was hauling three bins of cosplay supplies, a makeup case, a sewing machine, and an entire collection of figurines into their dorm room, Sam sat cross-legged on his bed with a book and a calm expression.
“You gonna help?”
Sam glanced up.
“You seem like you’ve got a system.”
“I do.”
“Then I’d probably mess it up.”
Sam narrowed his eyes.
“I already don’t like you.”
“Nice to meet you too.”
⸻
Things got worse from there.
Sam was loud.
Not obnoxious loud—just theatre kid loud.
He sang choir pieces while getting ready in the morning. He practiced monologues at random hours. He spent nights painting cosplay props and talking to himself dramatically.
Sam was quiet.
He liked practicing band music with headphones on and spending evenings reading or gaming.
Every conversation became an argument.
“You organize your books by color?”
“It looks nice.”
“You’re a psychopath.”
“You have forty-seven Blinkos.”
“They’re collectible. And I have 108 of them!”
“Wow good for you, you wasted your money on toys! And they’re taking up space. Congrats. You want a metal?”
Sam gasped.
“You take that back!”
“No.”
Sam teased
⸻
By October, the entire dorm floor knew about “The Sams.”
Mostly because they bickered constantly.
One night Sam returned from theatre rehearsal exhausted. He found Sam asleep in his chair.
A blanket had been draped over Sam’s figurine shelf.
At first he was confused.
Then he realized.
The sunlight from the window would’ve hit the shelf all afternoon.
Sam had protected the collection.
Sam just stared at the shelf
“That’s kind of sweet.”
Sam smiled shyly at Sam
⸻
The next week, Sam came back from a bar later than usual.
Not drunk, just disappointed.
Sam looked up from his makeup station.
“Bad hookup?”
Sam groaned and collapsed onto his bed.
“How do you know?”
“You have the face.”
“The face?”
“The ‘I put on real pants for this?’ face.”
Sam laughed despite himself.
And for some reason, Sam felt victorious.
⸻
After that, they started talking.
Not arguing.
Talking.
Sam would sit on his bed while Sam worked on cosplay commissions.
Sam would ramble about theatre drama.
Sam would complain about difficult band pieces.
Hours passed without either of them noticing.
It was annoying.
Sam didn’t want to admit he liked spending time with his roommate.
Especially because Sam had an unfairly nice laugh.
⸻
The crush hit the both of them during winter semester.
Hard.
Sam was helping with makeup for a theatre production.
Sam had volunteered to play in the pit orchestra.
During rehearsal, Sam glanced toward the stage.
Sam was laughing with another musician.
His hair was messy.
His smile was genuine.
And suddenly Sam forgot what he was doing.
“Oh no.”
“What?” asked a cast member.
“I’ve made a terrible mistake.”
⸻
Meanwhile, Sam had been having his own problem.
Specifically:
He couldn’t stop looking at Sam, he couldn’t stop thinking about him, he want to kiss him.
Sam wanted Sam
⸻
One night Sam was sitting at a bar with friends.
A guy approached him. Normally he’d be interested. Instead he found himself wondering what Sam was doing back at the dorm.
The guy tried to hit on Sam, but he tried to make it clear that he wasn’t interested.
The guy kept trying, to the point where he put his hands on Sam.
OH HELL NO
Sam thought to himself
Sam, with all his might, pushed the creep off of him, immediately leaving the bar
⸻
The tension between Sam and Sam became unbearable.
They couldn’t stop giving each other flirty looks and smiling at each other
Their friends noticed immediately.
“You two are ridiculous,” one choir friend said.
“What?” Both Sam’s asked
“You look at each other like you’re in a romance movie.”
Both Sams nearly choked and blushed
⸻
The breaking point happened during finals week.
Everyone was stressed.
Nobody was sleeping.
Sam had stayed up all night finishing a commission.
By morning he was exhausted and frustrated.
One small mistake ruined hours of work.
He ended up sitting on the floor, staring at it.
Sam walked in.
“Hey.”
“It’s ruined.”
Sam sat beside him.
“No it isn’t.”
“It is.”
“No.”
Sam looked down in disappointment
For once, he didn’t have a sarcastic comeback.
“I worked really hard on this.”
He started to tear up
“I know.”
The words were simple. But something about them hit differently. Because Sam always knew. He knew how much effort Sam put into everything. The theatre rehearsals, the commissions, the choir performances, all of it. And somehow he’d been paying attention the entire time.
Sam looked at him.
Sam looked back.
The room suddenly felt very small.
⸻
“So…”
“So…”
“You like me.”
Sam laughed.
“You’re really leading with that?”
“I’m gathering evidence.”
“You literally just looked into my soul.”
“Answer the question.”
Sam shook his head and smiled
“Yeah.”
Sam’s stomach flipped.
“Good.”
“Good?” Sam giggled
“Because I like you too.”
For once, neither of them had anything clever to say. Sam leaned forward and kissed him.
It was soft.
Warm.
Perfect.
Sam caressed his hand on Sam’s cheek.
When they pulled apart, Sam grinned.
“You know, this is probably going to make our arguments weird.”
Sam smiled.
“We’re still arguing.”
“Oh absolutely.”
“Good.”
“Good.”
And for the first time since move-in day, the two Sams were finally on the same side. ❤️
I hate you
Hah, yeah I hate you too
I hate you more~
I hate you the most~
…
…
*Both of the Sams start aggressively making out*
Sam: are you working on a DRESS?
Sam: …
Sam: GET OUT OF HERE!!
