I missed drawing Aiden. The other day "Romeo and Cinderella" popped up on my TikTok. And since you know I love to babygirlify Aiden, I instantly thought... mhhmmm Aiden but as Cinderella Miku? Yes.

It's just a sketch, maybe in the future I'll do a clean full render and fix a lot of things, but for now he stays like this.

From previous episodes, he often refers to himself as someone "not very useful" to others, but always trying to do his best to help. I can't find a situation where thinking this way is correct, nor is it healthy.

Garby seems to suppress this feeling most of the time, precisely to avoid bothering others (who already find him annoying because of the gas issue), It is not until he is on his own that he lets this feeling explode and overwhelm him in a fit of nerves, not knowing exactly what to do, Although it doesn't really come across as a big deal, since that's how it was written, I still think there's much more depth to his character.

This lack of self-confidence is most evident in the shooting practice episode, where, he desperately tries to pass the practice, attempting it several times, and after being the only one unable to complete the training properly, he begins to despair after failing to reach the level of the others in the gang, revealing a feeling of inferiority he has towards them. This insecurity seems to stem from a fear of being left out or abandoned for not meeting his friends' expectations (which don't actually exist, and to be honest, I doubt they expect anything from him lol), because it is something he himself has created in his mind to use as a "goal" and if he achieves it, others will be able to see him as a useful member of the team. Perhaps he feels ignored by his friends, isolated in most cases, distant from who they are, and the idea he has of himself, he is seen as someone replaceable, because in most cases, rather than helping, he gets in the way of others, becoming an impediment or a nuisance. He's not good at combat; most enemies are much stronger than him. He's not strategic, and he's not very resilient either. For this reason, when using the superchargers and successfully completing the practice, he begins to have this desire to want more; he sees it as an alternative, as the only way to achieve it and that others can see that, just like them, he can do it too. He needs to feel useful, that he's not just a burden to his friends.

In the rest of this episode, after eating all the superchargers, he looks depressed when he hears how upset the rest of the gang are, instead of taking advantage of the superchargers, he ends up messing things up and causing more problems for the gang, which is precisely what he wanted to avoid from the beginning. And to be honest, I don't personally like the solution to this problem. I feel that they don't really teach Garby anything relevant, and he doesn't learn to have more self-confidence either, they just tell him that shooting isn't his thing and that he should stick to being the "rock expert", that at the beginning of the episode seemed to depress him, being just that in the eyes of his friends, but magically here he seems to be quite okay with it.

I've come to think that his way of relating to others, talking too much and using unfunny jokes, might be because it's the only way he knows how to get attention, This feeling of wanting to be seen by others and to be liked by everyone, I think he believes that's how he is, not realizing that he makes others uncomfortable, he doesn't quite know how to identify their emotions; it would be easy for others to see his personality as "fake" or "performative," not as someone genuine. Besides the fact that nobody seems to be really interested in him, he's the only member of the gang who doesn't even live in the flairtons. He mentions that he likes having his own space, but I wondered to what extent this is actually enjoyable for him, since he doesn't seem to have any friends other than Ty and the gang.

The only friend we know he had before was Goldtrux, but we don't have much information about how they got along, but they seemed to be somewhat close since he mentions that they used to eat together quite often, e also seems somewhat sad/scared when talking about it.

I think that perhaps what happened to Goldtrux might have affected Garby in some way; after all, he saw how a friend of his ended up becoming someone completely new, in a very bad way. Unfortunately, they don't interact in this episode, so it's difficult to know how things ended between them. I think we can do interesting things with those two, which I might talk about later.

Garby is possibly my favorite character right now and I wanted to talk a little about this. I think he's a character with a lot of potential beyond being used for fart jokes. I don't see anyone who really likes him, I can understand why, but of the few things that are shown about him, there are some that really catch my attention.

It's been a while since I've watched any episode, so it's possible I made some mistakes or missed several things.

Appearantly this upsets people because... well, AnKyLoDuMpS aRe WiLd bY NaTuRe! Ok, i still see Ton Ton as a minor.

And this happens in literally every fandom; it's a very common thing to see.

You once made a mistake by saying that Ton-Ton was a minor within the canon based on information you read on a wiki. Then you cleared things up and apologized for the confusion, which I think is mature and something many people in the fandom community don't usually do when they make a mistake.

But I also don't think insults are the best way to approach a topic like this; we need to take these things calmly since it's not really that serious.

Why I think that what might bother people is the way we express something, whether it's about them or a thought they have that's different from ours.

I think trying to blame a certain group of fans for something based on information that isn't 100% certain isn't the best way to handle things, especially when it had already been made clear that it was a simply mistake.

I don't see any reason to get upset about something like a headcanon; at the end of the day, it's still just that, a headcanon. It shouldn't affect other people just because someone has a different opinion.

For my part, the only thing I think about the headcanon is that it might be a little strange, but that's because that idea would never have crossed my mind. I've never seen him as a minor, and I think that's the case for many other people as well.

My favorite part about writing is that first spark of an idea. It can happen at any time, for any reason. The idea for the Opalite music video crash landed into my imagination when I was doing promo for The Life of a Showgirl. I was a guest on one of my favorite shows, The Graham Norton Show. For those of you who aren’t familiar, it’s a UK late night show where Graham Norton (the insanely charismatic and lovable host) invites a random group of actors, entertainers, musicians, etc to be on his show and we all sit there and chat like it’s a dinner party. They even serve wine. Anyway. I remember thinking I got ridiculously lucky with the group I was paired with. Cillian Murphy, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Lewis Capaldi. All people whose work I’ve admired from afar. When we were all talking during the broadcast, Domhnall made a light hearted joke about wanting to be in one of my music videos. He’s Irish! He was joking! Except that in that moment during the interview, I was instantly struck with an *idea*. And so a week later he received an email script I’d written for the Opalite video, where he was playing the starring role. I had this thought that it would be wild if all of our fellow guests on the Graham Norton show that night, including Graham himself, could be a part of it too. Like a school group project but for adults and it isn’t mandatory. To my delight, everyone from the show made the effort to time travel back to the 90’s with us and help with this video. You might even recognize some friendly faces from The Eras Tour. I got to work with one of my favorite people in the world, Rodrigo Prieto, again! I had more fun than I ever imagined - Made new friends, metaphors, and fashion choices. It was an absolute thrill to create this story and these characters. Shot on film.
