It’s the middle of the night during summer vacation and Derby is asleep in his apartment. He is awaken by a sudden phone call from his father who explains that the Smith’s son Gary has been discharged from Happy Volts Asylum. Unfortunately though, his parents are out of town and as a last resort, they called Mr. Harrington to help. Derby’s father continues on and explains that he needs to pick up Gary and let him stay in his apartment for at least the night. Derby is extremely annoyed at this, but he reluctantly agrees.

However, once he gets there and sees Gary’s drowsy and vulnerable state, Derby can’t help but feel strange. Here is this boy in front of him, defenseless and exposed. It makes him feel things he’s never felt before.

He returns with Gary to his apartment, setting up a spare bedroom for him and saying goodnight. He gets back into his own bedroom, lying down and just before he’s about to fall asleep, his door opens and in comes Gary. Derby feels the boy slipping beneath his covers and hugging him tight, attitude clingy and soft.

Maybe Derby can use this to his advantage?
