i'm not fine at all \\ samita
general notes;Â SFW, angst. I'm still not over this, so please get a box of tissues
time frame;Â occurs a few hours after the NIkita self para; 3rd November 2014
There was a reason why Nikita Malhotra was a lawyer. It came in extraordinarily useful when she had to make schemes. And at that moment, her brain was working on overdrive. The odd calmness that had settled in her veins ought to make her feel scared, make her feel wary of herself but Nikita Malhotra was a lawyer. And lawyers lived on the exhilarating thrill of having planned something so sinister that it made them hate themselves. The solution had come while she was pouring out the broth into bowls. Sameer's voice had just popped into her head, telling her how much he loved whatever she cooked. Crystal clear, as though he was right next to her. That was when she got the idea. Sameer loved everything she did. It was simple really, when she sat down to think about it. If she could teach him how to hate her. If she could make him realise that she was an anchor dragging him odwn, that he needed to get rid of her. It was perfect. Like everything else in her life. An almost hysterical laughter escaped from her but she clamped it shut. She needed to leave the house. Every piece of furniture reminded her of them, reminded her of what a disaster she was. Reminded of her the slap that had showed her her place. A home wrecker. First hers, now the love of her life. She wiped her tears away when she heard the doorbell ring and practised smiling for a few seconds before getting up. Last night, she promised herself. This was her last night in the house. She would keep her distance from him and then leave at midnight. Like a coward. And then... and then her plan would truly start.

GENERAL NOTES;Â SFW, here take more fluff. Domestic!samita is literally perfect.
TIMEFRAME;Â 3rd November 2014, late afternoon-early evening
Sameer huffed at his textbooks as he lay sprawled on the floor in front of the couch. He'd moved the coffee table forward so the rug was clear of any clutter as he started his work. His textbooks lay open in front of him, pen tucked behind ear, highlighter in mouth as his eyes scanned over the pages. His laptop lay next to him, open to an empty Word document as he began his thesis. This was single-handedly the worst part of his medical degree, simply because the rest of the course was memorization but this was writing essays about a topic that interested you in the field of medicine. The biggest problem he had to tackle, Sameer supposed was the fact that he wasn't interested in any topic in the field of science. Yet here he was writing a thesis about the falsification of rigor mortis and exactly how accurate post mortem was. He craned his head to look at Nikita with a small smile before turning back to his books. His attention diverted a good ten minutes later as he turned around to lay on his back, hands under head. "Nikiii," he whined.

when the sun came up \\ samita
general notes;Â SFW, so much fluff I'm pretty sure y'all will get diabetes. Also Abhay is a cockblockÂ
timeframe;Â 1st October 2014
Nikita seriously didn't want to wake up but the damn ray of sunlight was literally right in her eye. "Sam, close your blinds," she whined, hiding her face in his neck. He only mumbled incomprehensibly and pressed a kiss to her hair, which honestly didn't solve the problem. She let herself lie in the comfortable embrace for a while before rolling out of bed after pressing a kiss to his bare shoulder, grabbing his shirt while doing so. Pulling his shirt over her head, she sleepily walked to the washroom, feeling her way with her hands. She still wasn't used to the layout of his house and often ended up walking into the wall instead of the washroom but that morning she got it correct and quickly brushed her teeth. It was Saturday and for once, they got to spend time with each other for the whole day. She shuffled around his kitchen and brought out eggs, deciding on eggs and bacon because she was that lazy today. Her boyfriend can deal with it. Quickly rolling up her hair into a messy bun, she tried to find jam in his stuffed fridge after pushing the toast in.
Hey Basanti, tere dil ka tu gate khol de
hey basanti, teri ek smile vispot hai
tu sar se paon tak, poori missile hai
kisi hit gaane pe joh, kamar matka de tu

Nikita listened silently and then sighed slowly before leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek. There was one thing that the father and son were completely similar in - their temper. They were both impulsive in their decisions and didn’t think through whatever they were saying. “Breathe,” she reminded him, rubbing his arm. “Yaad hai jab you got suspended from school for getting into a fight and got grounded? And I sneaked into your room everyday to cheer you up? At least I wouldn’t need to sneak in to the apartment.” She poked his cheek until he let out a reluctant smile and then smiled back at that, relaxing slightly. “Is Abhay staying with you?” she asked, pulling away from him to let him drive properly. “If not I’ll shift in for a while.” She said the statement as though she was talking about the weather, because it felt so natural to her. After all, she was his, completely.Â
Sameer let out a small sigh. "I've been staying at his place for the past few days, while my apartment got repainted or renovated or whatever. But I'm supposed to be moving in tonight," he informed her, trying to not let the smile light up his whole face she when mentioned moving in. "Nah, I told Abhay not to. I'm a big boy, I can live alone." He made sure to say this as sadly as he could, pouting at Nikita through his rearview mirror. It was obvious he was trying to guilt trip her into moving in with him, because that was such a big step in their relationship.

Nikita only laughed at the memory, leaning against the window as she turned to look at him. “Remember how you would end up fighting against everyone when we play house? Because you wanted me to be your wife?” It was silly when she thought about it now and realised all the things that she had been ignoring. She let the conversation continue for a while before leaning in to him, placing her hand on top of his. “Ghar mein kuch hua kya?" she asked softly, judging his reaction to see if she should push the conversation. She remembered Abhay’s texts and knew that something was wrong if Abhay had to text to her about his best friend. But she just wasn’t sure whether she was the correct person to do this.Â
"And when I tried to teach you how to ride a bike but we ended up crashing? I got the worst scolding of my life from Akash that day," he said remorsefully, playing his puppy eyes to its maximum usage. "Oh! But my favorite was when we used to go out to eat and all the waitresses would hit on me. You would get so jealous and your nose would scrunch up," he mentioned in an amused tone, poking her nose with his finger. Sameer sighed when she asked again. "I was kicked out. Dad found my Juilliard acceptance letter. We got into a fight and then he told me to leave. I was pretty angry so I was going to go but he told me if-- If I was going to go, I should stay gone." His grip on the steering wheel had tightened considerably, his knuckles turning white as he set his jaw, directing his gaze to the road.

"Don’t remind me of that," she said with a small laugh but slipped her fingers into his, swinging their hands together while they headed to the car. She tugged him back just before he opened the car door for her and only smiled at his questioning look. "Love you," she whispered, leaning up to brush their noses together. "Ghar chalen?" she asked him once they were in the car, stretching out. "I haven’t seen Shaan in a while aur Nandini aunty se bhi milni hai mujhe. I haven’t talked to her ever since…” She frowned at the thought of Rohan and Anjali but then forced a smile back. “Let’s go back to your place. Let’s go, na?”
Trying his best to deflect the question, he cleared his throat, driving in silence for a few minutes. It was only when they got caught in traffic and when Sameer felt Nikita's gaze on her that he sighed, turning to look at her. "We could go to my apartment," he said hesitantly, still not wiling to admit that he had been kicked out in a highly melodramatic fashion. "Remember when we were little, and I promised you that I'd make you live with me," he reminded her, shaking his head sightly at the memory and the plain simplicity of it. They'd been each other's ever since they were little. It was a shame they'd only realized it so recently.

Nikita hid her face in his neck, breathing in his scent until it calmed her down. She loved his voice this way, all worn out and gruff. “Thank you,” she whispered, pressing her lips to his neck. No one had done this for her ever and she loved him so much for that, so much that she couldn’t put it into words. She intertwined their hands together and pulled their hands up to press her lips to the back of his hand but then did a double take when she saw the deep marks on his fingers. “Sameer, yeh kaise—” She glared at him and inspected both his hands before lettin gout a small sigh. “Dard lag raha hai kya?’ she asked softly, bringing his hands to her heart.
He shook his head, pressing another kiss to her lips. "Nahi ya, they're just grooves. Happens when you're breaking into a new guitar." He nudged her softly, pulling at her bottom lip with his thumb before she made it bleed with worry. "It's like those ice skates. Remember when you convinced Angie to put you in ice skating lessons and you came crying to me after the first lesson because your legs were covered in cuts and bruises?" A small smile tainted Sameer's features as he led Nikita out of the venue and towards his car, already having got someone to shift his stuff into it.Â
 Get used to it!
Is that your pretty way of saying your papa kicked you out?
Why do I even have to tell you? Aren't you telepathic or something? Reading my mind the way you do.
But yes, that is my pretty way of saying my papa kicked me out?
Oh ho baba, don’t you have spares? I don’t even know how you and Abhay manage to get ready on time.Â
Pata hai. Aur waise, sab tumse daarte hain. Love you bhaiya.Â
That's the problem, I'm running out of spares. i'm on my last can.
I know, it's the abs and the muscles that make me so menacing. Love you too chotti.Â

Never in her life did she expect an entire song to be dedicated to her, and the way he had declared it so confidently in front of all those people. “Is that you?” the girl next to her whispered and Nikita could only laugh nervously, her hands trembling already. She wrung them together to stop them from shaking and looked back at him, swallowing down the tears. She was not going to cry in front of all these people, She was not— Too late. She wiped her tears away quickly, smiling so wide that her cheeks were starting to hurt. A sigh escaped her when when he finally ended the song, the only one seated in the front row still. She couldn’t stand up, couldn’t find the strength to because her legs were still shaking, she was sure. It was only after he left the stage that she followed suit, not really interested in any of the other artists. She came in for the one that mattered. She was still shaking from the song, his voice still ringing in her ears and she leaned against the back door, wrapping her hands around herself.Â
Sameer took the bottle of water gratefully, chugging it down. His vocal chords felt like they were dying and his fingers were aching from the chord progressions. He'd been a complete idiot to forget his electric guitar and had ended up using one of the spares. Big mistake. He wasn't used to the guitar which meant although he could play the song, it would hurt his fingers especially with the force he pressed down on the strings. He saw Nikita out of his periphery and made his way towards her, puling her into his arms. He kissed the top of her head before pressing his forehead against hers. "Hey there beautiful," Sameer whispered quietly, smiling at her. He had spent the entire performance gauging her reaction, and his heart was beating so fast he was afraid he would have a heart attack halfway through the performance.
Yeah yeah yeah…I know how long your always is kiddo!
Why are you staying at the Kapoor’s anyways?
You wound me Li Li.
Needed a change in scenery
