βIf I took the whole thing, that would defeat the purpose.β Xanderβs voice carried an easy amusement, lips curving into that smile that always seemed to cut deeper than it should. Watching her squirm under his gaze was addictive, and maybe it was a little cruel but to him, it was nothing less than a compliment.
His eyes lingered, deliberate, before he leaned just close enough for the his words to impact. βWhy donβt you just show me how much you enjoy that ice cream, hm?β The words rolled off his tongue soft, low, but threaded with just enough weight to make their meaning impossible to ignore.
Samantha nearly dropped the cone. Her fingers tightened around it instead, knuckles pale, like she was trying to physically anchor herself. She could feel the heat crawling up her neck, spreading across her cheeks like wildfireβ and he knew. Of course he knew. That look in his eyes said heβd counted on it. Samantha was unfamiliar with the feeling that shivered down her spine after hearing Xander's instructions. She'd never been told to do anything like that before with such heavy suggestion underneath it, even if the man was simply toying with her. It stirred something within her that had her squeezing her thighs a little, her eyes wide and doe-eyed in surprise.
"I uhβ I," the woman was bright red, and unable to form a coherent thought or come to a conclusion of what she was supposed to do next. Her eyes were wide, glossy with surprise, cheeks lit up in a near glowing red that gave her away completely. She stared at him like she might short-circuit right there on the sidewalk. βI do like it,β she finally managed, her words tumbling out in a rush. "The ice cream, I mean. Thatβs what you meant. Right? Obviously. Because itβs really good. And Iβm trying to enjoy itβ you know, before someone eats the whole thing," her babbling aimless and flustered as her eyes watched Xander carefully.
