You can't get too excited when you get a new pet.
Sure, you want to play with them right away. Build an emotional connection. Make them feel loved and at home.
But a lot of people forget that the first days are for discipline. Setting the rules. Making sure they will remember for the rest of their life that this is your home, not theirs.
That they are here at your pleasure, to amuse you. To do tricks. To keep you company on long winter nights.
It doesn't matter how elite their training has been before they come to you. It's your house, and it's your rules. Show them their place, or they'll start expecting too much from you.
They aren't your equal. They're your pet.
Take Camilla here. I bought her from the finest academy in all of England. Her scores were exceptional. Total obedience, a disciplinary record without blemish, and outstanding references from the men they allowed her to 'practice' on.
But when I interviewed her for this position, I could see something in her eyes. Without even knowing her old self, I could see him rising back up. Excitement. A big opportunity.
She seemed to think that because my circumstances - and my home - were so far removed from her own, that this would make for a fresh start and a comfortable life. That her new role, sallying around for whichever man happens to lay eyes on her, could be tolerable.
I noted it privately, and made my plans to help her settle appropriately.
So, once she was shown around the place - the cushion she'll be sleeping on, the cage she'll be locked in if she misbehaves, put through a long exhibition of her talents and responsibilities in the household, I made sure to set up a reminder of who she really is around here.
I had the butlers, the maids, the cooks, all of them, sit and watch her, posing in place. On her knees, hands rested forward, looking as prim and demure as she possibly could. Kneeling outside my bedroom door, listening to me fucking his ex-girlfriend.
If she stays in place, maintains her posture, thanks me afterwards... then I'll know I've got a suitable bitch.
She is staff, after all. Technically. It is so important that she is well-trained.
