1.) I’VE BEEN BOOKED FOR THIS YEAR’S BLACK & BRONZE MUSIC FESTIVAL

I submitted my application on the very last day on a whim with a lack of confidence but an opposing force had me follow through. I didn’t even know I’d been accepted til a day before the confirmation due date . I’ll be giving a tribute to Chicago house music during the hip-hop segment next I can’t help but feel encouraged to embrace the energy that opened the doors for me to even be seen and selected to represent this piece of history . AND I’M GETTING PAID NIGGA FYTB . Haven’t written shit yet but I’m knowing niggas will indeed be moving their bodies .

2.) I GOT A MF JOB DOING SOMETHING I LOVE

I’d been applying for jobs through third party agencies and even attempted using LinkedIn at a point. All was hopeless til Camila reached out offering me a paid position to be the operations manager at this wonderful space . Out of everything I gave up on, my consistency in volunteering my time to a place I felt safe n appreciated in paid off in so many more ways than I wasn’t expecting. I be a little intimidated by the responsibilities, but I’m being told I’m on top of this shit . The role is also showing me what to prepare for for when I start taking the business side of things more seriously . I’m being around what I need to be in order to grow in the ways that are necessary. Grateful

3.) I’VE DEVELOPED A COOL RELATIONSHIP W MURS AND AM NOW OPENING FOR A BUNCH OF GRAMMY WINNING LEGENDS AT THE FIRST GOODWAVES FESTIVAL

THIS .. idk I’m still navigating this part. I’ve asked why so many times and have been told that I matter and the art I share is important. For so long I never felt like I belonged in any of the spaces that I resided in, and a veteran of the game has been helping me to reroute my way of thinking . I fw this man heavily and am excited n honored to show out for myself my city and anyone who’s felt an inkling of what I’ve felt while putting myself out there .

4.) I DROPPED MY FIRST SINGLE OF DA YEAR OMG

Granted, this was a rush drop but it felt necessary. Ima re-record it but I’m happy to have put something out. I’m ready for whatever run this music is about to take me on. I gotta plot the video n start marketing it .
