I still haven’t watched through all of the new Animaniacs yet - I don’t always like the binge things in one sitting if I’m really enjoying them - but I’ve seen some minor spoilers and some people unhappy that the Brain apparently gets much more villainous and overtly malevolent than they feel he ever used to be. Are folks forgetting that his entire defining characteristic is that he wants to be a global dictator? Of course he’s a bad guy. That was always the joke! The only reason they probably weren’t a little darker with it back in the day was that TV networks were still nervous about villain protagonists; it wasn’t until the 2000′s when there was such an influx of them, kind of beginning with Zim. Wasn’t there also an episode of the old show where he let Pinky go to hell for him? I know he had a change of heart by the end of it, but that still happened.
