Celebrating your birthday with Sal

I hc Sal as the type of person to write down his friends birthdays the moment he finds out about them. I definitely think he'd care much more about his friends birthdays in comparison to his own.

ESPECIALLY his partners! this is your special day and he wants to make it perfect.

It all depends on whether you'd prefer your friends throwing you a party or if you'd rather spend it alone with your boyfriend. Since I don't know which scenario you'd prefer I'll just do both !

He starts off your day slow, waking you up early in the morning & greeting you with your favorite flowers :') He'd make some breakfast in bed for you (to the best of his abilities, because I don't think he'd be that great at cooking but I'm sure he can make you something simple at the very least), prioritizing your comfort first.

You wanna cuddle? He's all yours! Wanna watch some tv? He'll put your favorite show on. Anything to get your day started comfortably.

Once noon rolls around, he drags you out of the apartment to go on a little walk just the two of you, later going somewhere for lunch because he can't have you missing your meals!

"What do you wanna eat? pick whatever you want. My treat" is what he tells you. He's been saving up for today for a while, he just wants to spoil you!!

Meanwhile back at his place, Larry, Ash, Todd, Chug & Maple are all there setting up your surprise birthday party for you to come back to.

And it's perfect, the room is fully decorated, your favorite cake sitting on the table and your birthday presents are all piled up in the living room.

You spend the rest of the night with your friends playing games, listening to music, eating cake & opening your presents. Orrr..

If that's just not what you're into, Sal will take you back to your place to chill together. He asks you what you wanna do and he complies with whatever it is, "your wish is my command" is what he says and you can just tell he has a big smile under his mask by the sound of his voice and the way his eyes are squinting.

As for your present, he would put a lot of thought into it. Likely something that has to do with your interests, or something he noticed you've been looking into buying recently.

I think we can all agree that Sal is super unathletic lol. He does not work out.. at all.

So I imagine he'd be impressed even with the little things. Like wow how are you so flexible? You can do a handstand?? yes Sal. Of all the things you could be impressed by you chose the most simple ones..

He'd be so supportive!! He would love watching you practice routines & performing them. He's your #1 hype man :)

If you're anxious about your next performance he makes sure to hype you up and lift your spirits. Tells you that there's nothing to worry about, you've been practicing for so long there's no way you won't nail it, holds your hands and tells you he's proud of you after you're done.

Makes sure he's always there to watch you when you cheer in games or when you're participating in competitions!

He likes your uniform a bit too much, it's embarrassing to admit. He can't stop staring and he loves the way you look in it. You've definitely caught him sneaking peeks every now and then and he's grateful for his mask because he can successfully hide his blush.

You'd definitely be stronger than him and albeit embarrassed he kinda likes it, would probably feel the need to start working out at least a little bit too tho.

Because let's be honest... he's very insecure :[ He'd probably think he's not good enough for you.

I personally think he'd get jealous of anyone getting too close to you, doesn't matter if it's someone new or a good friend. I imagine he thinks he's easily replaceable, so he wouldn't be surprised if you left him for someone else. (I'm projecting aren't i...💀)

But let's suppose you've made a new friend, yeah?

If he starts noticing you and someone else getting a little too close for his liking he might panic a little. Wouldn't really know how to approach you about it because he's worried he's overreacting and that you might get mad at him for it, so he keeps his feelings to himself.

He hates the way you divert your attention from him to your new friend so quick when they come up to you in the middle of your guys' conversation, couldn't they have waited until you were done talking? Are they interrupting on purpose?

He just kinda... stands there. He stands there and waits awkwardly for them to leave, what else can he do? He hasn't worked up the courage to confront either of you yet, so for now he's just waiting with his hands in his pocket, looking off to the distance & fidgeting until they're finally, finally gone.

But of course, he can't keep ignoring it forever. He might start feeling a bit neglected at some point aswell, even if you've been giving him the same amount of attention as you always have. He just wants all of your attention on him, why are you giving so much of it to that new person? What do they have that he doesn't?

"Man up" is what he tells himself before he asks you to talk. He finally tells you about how he's been feeling about that person and admits he's jealous. Tries to be as nice as possible so you don't get mad at him.

Needs a lot of reassurance after, so you better give him exactly that. Make sure to spend a bit of extra time with him for the next few days, tell him how much he means to you, give him loads of little kisses & cuddles, he loves physical attention & words of affirmation.

Always without fail goes out of his way to compliment you on even the littlest things because he knows we can all be a little insecure sometimes and he wants to make sure you know you're loved </3 (do it back plz).

Starts tearing up at the sight of you crying because he's so empathetic and can't stand seeing you sad, tries his absolute best to cheer you up in any way he can think of.

Makes sure you're not skipping any meals and keeps a stash of your favorite candy in his room for whenever you're going out or just chilling in his room because seeing the little smile on your face when you watch him pulling it out of his pocket and handing it to you makes him melt.

once sal hears about a new tenant moving in, he makes sure to visit the same day, trying his hardest to leave a good impression on you assuming you're the same age as him. you'd probably be going to the same school after all, and he wouldn't mind a new person in his friend group. he knows what it's like being new so he definitely makes sure to be as welcoming and nice as possible. (sweet boy <3)

he thinks you're really cool !!! definitely intrigued by what you can do and even if you're not doing any tricks, he loves watching you skateboard, you make it look so easy. he likes the way your hair softly blows in the wind & he thinks you're pretty attractive....

wait what? pause. did he just..?? no. "you're just a friend" he thinks, knock it off. but then again, he can't help but think about the way you get excited when you land a new trick, or how calm you look when you're riding your skateboard around the neighborhood, the way you look back at him every now and then to make sure he's caught up to you...shit. maybe he does kinda like you. now what?

this is probably the first time he's crushing on someone & he absolutely does not have a clue how to go about it. all he knows is stuff he's seen in movies, but those are so overdramatic and cheesy.

hes a mess, afraid he's gonna stutter or forget what hes gonna say, he doesn't wanna make himself look stupid. what if you start thinking he's weird?

so what does he do? he tries his best to get closer to you in hopes that you catch feelings too. how you may ask? by asking you to teach him how to skateboard of course ! hes interested in learning anyway, it's a win win for him and how could you resist? hes too sweet to say no to.

tries his best to not mess up too bad, but at the same time makes sure to take his time with learning, he doesn't want you to stop teaching him too soon because he's having a lot of fun. bonus points if you ask him to teach you how to play his guitar in return!
