I’m sick of all the whumpblr posts where a character forcibly or secretly drugs another character “for their own good” (to help them sleep, give them medical care, whatever) and it’s treated as a positive thing. That’s bad! They shouldn’t do that! It happens a lot in real life, mostly to disabled people (especially psychiatrically and intellectually disabled people), children, racialized people, and other marginalized people, and it’s a huge violation of bodily autonomy! Especially if it’s by somebody the second character is meant to continue to trust and have a positive and healthy relationship with, like the first character feels kind of guilty about it but the second forgives them because it was “for their own good” and then they just move past it, jfc. That first character is not a safe person for the second character to be around; even if you/the second character think it’s no big deal, it shows a willingness to ignore any and all of the second character’s boundaries as long as the first character thinks it’s in their best interest. Can we please not further normalize nonconsensual drugging.

med people are so annoying "This family's 8 year old child who was about to go through a major surgery and kept crying that she was hungry so they pitied her and gave her food, she then had a heart attack in the surgery.
