Most colleges give a mid-range in scores and GPAs of the pool of students they accepted the year before.. so it would be in your best interest to try and get around or above that score and GPA!

So the SAT consists of three parts.. Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. You combine the scores to determine your SAT score. The highest possible score is a 2400.. so that means 800 in each section! (Actually I read in the news that they are getting rid of the writing requirement but I took all three parts! So if writing isn’t a requirement the highest would be 1600)

The ACT consists of English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing. The ACT score is given as an average of the English, Math, Reading, and Science scores.. NOT WRITING.. combined! That means in each section (besides writing) you can get up to a 36.. making the highest possible ACT score 36. The writing section is scored out of 12.
