I’d love to see a sequel where Charles asks for a tattoo with a raunchy placement or Charles gets his own nip piercings. Either surprising Max with them for valentines, Max’s bday, or whatever OR I’m pretty sure a lot of tattoo artists also do piercings since they are familiar with sterilizing equipment and both tattoos and piercings are forms of body modification, so maybe Max does the piercings on Charles.

Side note: a middle school where I’m from had the initials K.M.S. and all the other schools would use the fact that their initials stood for “kill myself” as an insult online and in chants at sporting events. So when I see you talking about the KMS fic, I always read it as the “kill myself fic”

I have tossed around some ideas with Max numbing Charles' nipple and playing with the other one while he is getting ready to pierce it for a distraction. 🤭🤭😭 And I am aware of the sanitary issues but choosing to ignore them for the vibe.

I have a little draft going for a second chapter since there has been a lot of chatter around needing more of those two. It is a shame to do a pierced Max and not have Charles at least get to play with it a little...

Charles had developed a problem.

Nothing serious or life altering. Not even a particularly inconvenient one. Just a problem in the sense that every weekday at exactly ten-thirty in the morning, he found himself looking for the same man.

It had all started innocently enough, like most fixations.

The route along the waterfront was one of his favorites. It was just long enough to get his clients some good exercise, but not too long that it dragged and made the day miserable. The path curved past a small park overlooking the harbor, where tourists sat on benches with overpriced coffee and locals pretended not to notice the yachts. It was scenic, usually quiet, and most importantly, every dog in Monaco seemed to love it.

The tattoo shop had been an afterthought.

Mostly.

I do know some people who work in the paddock and read fic/are aware of it, but at least have some respect for FF rules. We don't show RPF to the PEOPLE who the story is about. 🤧

Lewis also saying he hadn't heard of fan stories is adorable while Charles just looked wildly uncomfortable. Charles already knew about F1 RPF. The man is too chronically online to not be aware, no matter what he says in his 8-sleep interview.

With things going better than he expected, Max is finding it more and more difficult to keep his distance from his mate. With an unexpected team emergency, the Alpha has to deviate from his plans and hope he's done enough to keep Charles safe.

“Are you joking? I can’t,” he said.

Charles tilted his head. He can’t what?

“I’m not . . . I'm not leaving him alone,” Max finished, sounding a bit further away.

Oh.

All the air felt like it had been sucked out of the room. Turning back towards the TV, Charles felt like someone had just thrown a glass of cold water in his face. 

Max was talking about him.

He kept going, sounding more strained the longer the call lasted. 

“What about Gio? He is reserve for fuck’s sake,” Max insisted. “How the fuck did that—I don’t care. Find someone.”

I just wanted to say that I absolutely love Killing Me Slowly. I recently got back into reading Lestappen fics after quite a long break, and I reread Where You Go I Go by Lady_Something because I couldn’t find anything that gave me the same feeling, especially when it comes to the writing style and all those beautiful little details until I find you🫶🏻

I finished all 11 chapters in one day, and I can honestly say I’m obsessed and already have so many theories. ❤️

I was also wondering how often you update. I read the note about the break after Chapter 12 (I hope you have an amazing time and get to relax and recharge! 💕), but I’m curious…..roughly how many chapters the story will have, and when do you think you’ll be back from your break ?

I had a ton of fun working on WYGIG and all the little intricacies of that story! KMS will be similar in its little details and I was just thinking the other day how crazy the read it all in one go must be for KMS for people just now finding it. I bet the clue connecting is a lot easier. 😅

This story (when I'm not on break) has an every 2 week posting schedule on Tuesdays. I have an outline on part 1 of this story out to chapter 20ish but give or take one depending on how drafting goes. I do not have an outline on my part 2 idea or if I'll even end up doing that yet, but I'll update as things change. My usual break time for long fics is around 6-8 weeks off, but I'll come back sooner if I finish quicker.

that's something we usually say when we don't have control over the situation. "don't touch me..." maybe something that feels violating now?

it's very clear that they were having marital problems but also me thinks something physically wrong with charles.

if the dream of charles throwing the mug at max is to be believed (and it is to be believed because it's something that he found the proof of? — dent in the kitchen wall)

that extreme behaviour change is often linked with brain tumour? but why would charles be angry at the possibility of max removing a brain tumour from his body?

maybe it was a pregnancy but a high-risk one where things were clearly not going as they had planned and it was starting to affect charles' physical health to the point that it could kill charles. so either something happened that lead to charles being unconscious and max having to take the decision between charles and the pup? or idk maybe it was the uterus itself but then the doctors wouldn't talk about heats before discharging him from the hospital.

also I think that charles went on the boat on the night of his accident to kill himself thus max lying to pascale about what the police found on the boat and max saying he's never leaving again

as you can see I'm very invested. i have read the whole fic (so far) in like 10 hours 😭

There is definitely something up with Charles, in terms of him possibly being unstable or having varying moods like his dreams have shown. Kudos to you on the mug dream being real because of the dent (100% real).

There is also something to be said for Max's general behavior with Charles throughout the whole first half and his almost eggshell approach he takes with Charles. Not that Max is an angel and he for sure has his own issues and behind the scenes dealings, but things are definitely stacking up against both sides for how things ended up how they did. There is still a huge chunk of the story missing that is soon to unravel in a fantastically dramatic way 🤭

i just wanted to thank you for this fic. it is my favourite ongoing fic at the moment, and seriously every week i look forward to the updates and snippets. you write so incredibly well, and ive recommended it to so many mutuals and in turn i have made new mutuals/grown closer with mutuals as we discuss our theories after each chapter. i'm humbled that we get to read this for free and while im going to miss kms while you're gone, a break is MUCH deserved and i hope you enjoy it immensely 🫶🫶
