It’s no secret that June is PRIDE month baybeee! Eri and I both have a background in social justice movements and we both identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community. So, we definitely want to dedicate an entire episode to Pride! On that note, when referring to/speaking to Eri, please refer to them using gender neutral pronouns (they/them)! 

We invite everyone regardless of your sexuality or gender identity to join us for an info-packed episode where we discuss our opinions and perspectives as members of the community! This week we’ll go over:

The history of Pride: How it started and how it’s going! 

PoC contributions: While almost all members of the community have contributed to movement, PoC contributions have been swept under the rug. Here we tell some stories about PoC members and their contributions to the movement.

Working together: How/why we need to stop creating divisions within our own movement and focus on the task at hand! 

Labeling: When does it do more harm than good?

Boundaries: Separation of kink and Pride. Kink has it’s place in Pride, but when/where is it appropriate? 

Sexuality: Leah talks about what she thinks is socially appropriately here as far as discussing sexuality here. What’s okay to share with a new person and what is TMI? 

Eri and Leah talk about our experiences with our identity.

In the first public episode of Citruscast, we answer questions from you guys about kink in fandom! This gave us a great idea of the topics you’d like to hear us discuss in the future. If you have any feedback definitely let us know ^^

You get to see us in our infant form here; stumbling through some questions, being a little awkward, and hearing me mouse click the whole time, *sweats* but hey, before you know it, we’ll be smooth as butter and you’ll be missing our clumsiness. 

**Please note, Eri and I are both opinionated and can seem intense at times. Keep in mind, we were asked our opinions on issues regarding kink as people who have engaged in the BDSM scene –something that’s personal and important to both of us. Each person has their own agency and right to engage in kinks that they enjoy so long as they are safe, sane, and consensual. Squicks are individualized, so if we say “Ew” about something, that’s our opinion on the matter. It’s okay for you to dislike kinks and think they’re icky, so long as you aren’t dunkin’ on the people who have them. Plz direct all complaints to your nearest rubbish bin. 

Here is a breakdown of the podcast and the questions we addressed:

1: Do you think we should try to make our depictions of sex realistic?

Warnings: mentions of monster fucking and hardcore kinks.

Leah talks about how cervixes work.

Leah wants to clarify that she does not think she started healthy BDSM. She was saying she started to take notice of it in works once she started writing it (which is basically when she first joined fandom).  

The time is now guys, gals and nonbinary pals! @saint-eridell and I have kept it under wraps, but we’re finally ready to pull the trigger on our passion project: the Citruscast podcast!

Citruscast is a commentary podcast about fandom, BDSM, creating, and all points in between. We also plan to interview fandom creators in future episodes. 

Our pilot episode was a smashing success, so now it’s time to iron out the kinks (well, not all of them. That’s going to be a big topic of discussion, after all!) and record our very first episode!

This week, though, we have a focused topic: kink in fandom!
