another small announcement: i genuinely do not know where i'll be next year, what kinds of obligations i might have, or what my life will look like! so (tentatively) this blog will not return for a 2026 saimatsu week. i wish i could just run this event forever but it takes quite a bit of energy and time ;w;

I swear, I didn't expect that two of my pieces for this week would be redraws of Sony movies, but here we are. P.P.P.S. I'm so happy that I finally got a chance, after waiting so many years, to take part in this art challenge. These two will always mean the world to me, and as difficult as this past week was trying to get these artworks out, I had a blast trying to see which creative ways I could portray the love and affection between these two. Big thanks to the guys who run the challenge, and I hope you all enjoyed.

I randomly remembered a Tiktok trend from maybe a year or two ago (god it been like a year already) where people made bracelets with the eye color of their lovers and I thought “that’s kinda cute, maybe I would draw it with saimatsu”
and then I realized what a nightmare it would be to do with Shuichi given that man’s eye color changes an ungodly amount so I made this @saimatsu-week

I thought it would be cool to put something from my culture im the draw. Btw they're dancing to "carimbó", wich is a traditional dance from my region (from my state being more specific)

I’m still chronically mad at the fact that not once did we ever see Kaede’s reaction to shuichi taking off his hat for the first time (or in General like I’m pretty sure there’s like two lines of dialogue in drs and that’s it Bruh) anyways yeah @saimatsu-week

Making the lighting and the colors work here was a lot of fun! I'll gladly take any excuse to draw my designs for these two. I'll also take any excuse to show just how much Shuichi desires Kaede. You have no idea how much their love suite rewired my brain. I hope I balanced the sweetness and the suggestive nature well,,,
