WIP. Repositioned Kunzite so heโd look even more pathetic.
You know I already commented on adorable homicidal crazy-hair Zoisite but what is really currently breaking my heart is

Itโs so prevalent it even pops up in fanart and cosplay, and while his body language is different in La Reconquista (which probably goes along with his entire damned storyline being different), in the promo shots, his actress still does this. There are shots of all of the Shitennou standing cross-armed and glowering, of course, but Zoisite is the one who looks more like heโs hugging himself than crossing his arms.
Someone on Tumblr did this great post about how when you do that over and over and over itโs a subconscious insecurity/self-comfort thing, which 100% makes sense when you realize heโs way younger than the other Shitennou, and tiny and pretty where theyโre large and imposing, and even when heโs in positions where by necessity he isnโt all folded in on himself, like running and climbing, he still keeps his hips tight and his shoulders turned in like heโs trying to make himself smaller still (and heโs small enough to impersonate Usagi whoโs only 4โ11โ, itโs not like he can actually get much smaller).
Thereโs really only one time in Google Image Search that he pops up not all folded in on himself, and even thatโs misleadingโitโs when heโs making fireballs and kinda has to keep his hands away from his face, but long shots still show his feet crossed in that scene, and his elbows are still tucked in. Even when he impersonates Sailor Moonโwith the understanding that the off-color fuku is an anime convention for audience benefit so we can tell them apart and that in-universe heโd actually match her near-perfectly, if not dead onโwhat gives him away isnโt his differently-shaped eyes or his voice, but the fact that his body language is the complete opposite of hersโshe comes in with legs akimbo and arms spread, and even as her he canโt stop himself from tightening his hips and crossing his arms.
So really, the only time in the entire series that you see him completely abandoning that insecurity and that Iโm-useful-because-Iโm-pretty stance is right here.
Protecting Kunzite. This is a boy who took a punch, wailed โyou scarred my precious face!โ, and ran away in a fit of pique over a slightly bloody lip, but now youโve added his injured lover to the equation, and either you or he will damn well die before you lay another finger on Kunzite.
