I WANNA HEAR ABOUT 05 AU iovee any ssg 05 au please speak on it <3
AUGHHHH OKAY OKAY SO
So I wanted to go like suuuuper cheesy teen movie vibes with it right bc thats the vibe I get from everyone's characters and also I just love that shit. So it's like a teen drama with three overlapping cliques.
Theres the preps, which is Arasha, Olivia, and Chanse.
Arasha and Chanse are the school's powercouple, with Chanse being the captain of the football team and Arasha being the top of the pyramid. But it's like fuuuully a lavender arrangement. It's the kinda thing where everyone sort of Suspects that Chanse might be gay but he has enough social capital that nobody's gonna call him on it. There are only a few people who know for Sure. That group includes Arasha, but unforunately not Chanse. He's still trying to convince himself he's straight, but obv is totally uninterested in actually doing anything with Arasha, so she is making her way through all the cute guys (and girls) in school on the side. It's kind of an open secret but Chanse looks the other way since hes kinda. Busy with his own shit
Then there's the geeks, Shayne, Court, and Tommy.
Shayne leads a book club that nobody joins, so it's usually just him and Ms. Lehan-Canto in the english room for an hour every week. He's going through a kind of cynical, anti-social phase where he likes to act like he's smarter than everyone else, but really he's just afraid of being picked on so he chooses to keep his head down and not reach out. His only close friend is Court- they've been friends since Court's family moved next door in the sixth grade, and they're kind of obviously in love but both are too shy to make a move.
Tommy is in charge of the A/V club which is chaperoned by Mr. Padilla. He's the only openly gay kid at school, but he's the go-to plug for pirated games and movies so people mostly leave him alone. He and Chanse also definitely have something going on. They were childhood friends that drifted away over time. There's some tension and chemistry, but Tommy is waiting for Chanse to take initiative.
Court is in the drama and A/V clubs. She, Arasha, Olivia, and Angela all used to be friends in middle school, but there was a big blow-out drama in eighth grade that scattered their little group. She's well-liked and Arasha and Olivia would be willing to have her in their clique, but Courtney isn't willing to change herself to fit their standards, so she's kind of on the fence between being popular and being an outcast.
Speaking of which, the last group is the misfits- Angela, Spencer, and Trevor.
Angela is the resident goth/emo freak. She used to be really cute and peppy, but between her parents having marital issues and losing her middle school friends, she had a total transformation in the summer before freshman year and is now going through a pretty intense phase. Her guidance counselor insisted she have an extracurricular so she's in the drama club with Court- Court is trying to brute force Ang into friendship but she's putting up a fight. The only person she didn't push away is her cousin Spencer.
Spencer is just kind of a loser. Really into anime and video games, wears heelies, draws yaoi in his notebooks during class. He's in the A/V club with Tommy and they're chill, but Tommy doesn't want to tank his social status any further so they dont really spend time together in public outside of that. Angela was really the only person he hung out with until Trevor showed up.
Trevor is the new kid- he moved from Idaho to live with his uncle Josh for... complicated reasons over the summer and just transferred. He obviously joined the basketball team, and he's really good, but everyone realized pretty quick that he doesn't fit in with the jocks. He meets Angela and Spencer, and after a particularly disastrous halloween party, decides to ditch the popularity game altogether and just hang out with them instead. He's got a crush on Arasha, but Angela still has a massive grudge and doesn't trust her for a second, so obviously nothing's gonna happen there.... probably...
Other roles: Amanda is the english teacher and chaperones the book club (and is also the only teacher really Trying with Angela), Anthony is the computer teacher and chaperones the A/V club, and Ian is the history teacher, as well as running the drama club.
