i appreciate you writing in! this is something i’m uncertain of because i came to the decision to include that in the kin server because of another friend i have who has DID & is a system; the decision was made in accordance with xyr opinions on the matter, but at the same time, i understand that it isn’t right to consider that one person can speak for an entire group.

i didn’t mean to imply that fictives were synonymous with fictionkin at all – but as the group is also open to coping kin who are kin because of mental illness as well, it made no sense to me to exclude fictional introjects, who are in a similar (but not at all exact!!) situation. one of the two founders of this network is entirely coping kin and not spiritual kin, and to exclude anyone, part of a system or not, who is or identifies as a fictional character just because they’re mentally ill doesn’t seem right to me.

as i don’t have DID myself (although i was tentatively diagnosed with it as a child, but am not currently a system of any sort and no longer consider the diagnosis appropriate), i would prefer to defer to those directly affected by this on the matter; if anyone could weigh in, i’d very much appreciate it!
