ToonHive, along with multiple other reputable news outlets covering Hollywood movies, are reporting that Jason Reitman's live-action Astro Boy movie adaptation is no longer moving forward at Sony Pictures.

Jason Reitman's live-action Astro Boy movie was announced to be in the works back in February 2026.

This live-action adaptation is separate from the Animal Logic live-action movie adaptation of Astro Boy named "Astro", of which the current status is unknown.
