In “making a mark” we see Derby manipulating jimmy into vandalizing the city hall, with the intention to either get jimmy expelled or to get him into trouble so he can get off his and the preps back.

I mean it’s kind of obvious that derby doesn’t like jimmy at all and that he cannot stand to be told what to do, especially by a “pauper”.

he’s an idiot but also very smart.

One of the first things I thought was that Gary maybe involved, he was the one who told Crabblesnitch about the graffiti, so perhaps him and Derby came up with that plan, since Derby was being a bootlicker and has already manipulated jimmy in the past, it was his part to sweet talk jimmy into it.

they probably hate each other but they had a bigger threat, they wanted jimmy gone. 

Then I remembered that Earnest is also involved, he was the one who added: 

-“ you should leave your mark on city hall”

to Derby saying:

-“forget the school, the whole town should know about you, you’re like the mayor”

it feels like they talked before and knew what to say, each one had a dialogue to make it look like it was spontaneous, that two clique leaders wanted the best for him and saw him as above them therefore he should prove that he’s the “king”.

And let’s not forget about this part where it looks like they are headed the same way. I’m kind of deaf but I kinda hear Derby say “wait up” to Earnest.

We see after the incident how their actitudes towards jimmy changes, they don’t have to be fake anymore cause now everyone treats jimmy like a criminal, they don’t have to respect him or follow his orders, they can be bullies again, they can do whatever they want.

Glory in the Hole - HC Ramble

At first it was just a stupid idea, passed between the former trio of the freshmen Zoe, Gary, and Petey in that very hole. Probably alongside a blunt. Same way most of their plots were birthed. Prior to what we know it as today the basement was the main place to just hide out and smoke, as the janitor wasn't often around and seldom any other staff would venture down the ratway.

Then word spread along the grapevine. Gary and Zoe harassed Mandy, who hissed it to Bif, who nudged it to Johnny, so on and so forth. Wasn't much of a crowd at first, but as more people duked it out in the pit more onlookers started showing up to place bets. Gary served as the announcer as we've seen, while Petey kept the records and Zoe was the lookout in case any staff or prefect Did show up. I'll have to agree with your original post on this; knowing what I know about Donald now he'd gladly play the role of a Bookie, with his wannabe rebel streak and general desire to associate with Gary and Petey. That said, you'd need some muscle to guard that money around a hundred mostly broke kids. I propose Johnny: he'd be keen on making sure that rat doesn't pocket any for himself (but who's to say He wouldn't?)

Generally the Hole was for settling matters, yes; Gary would suggest to the seniors if they had a problem with somebody they should invite them down. It grew into something uglier, though, and this is where it gets messy. Likely at a suggestion from Derby or some other prep, it became a mirror of the Glass Jaw on the side, with ranked fights. A ladder to climb for fame and money, taken from part of the betting pool.

Eventually word spread to Russell and he quickly became Champion of the Hole. I'd be inclined to think that's why the bullies aren't keen on taking over the school; Russell already reigned there and the other cliques just let him have it to keep them complacent. In terms of brute strength Russell can overpower half the other leaders and at least match the other half; they shine through their tactics and team power. Which Russell generally lacks.

Anyway for better or for worse the Hole served as a sort of mass gathering place where most of the student body mingled. It all fell apart when Jimmy beat Russell as nobody really knew if it was part of the ladder and Jimmy was the new champion, or if it was the former score-settling line of fights. That and the group running it fell apart; Zoe was obviously out of the picture, Gary was busying himself sowing discord, and Pete was a footnote.

the short answer is melvin drew it to give donald the middle finger.

the longer answer is melvin and donald have had a sort of longstanding rivalry/beef with eachother, stemming from a fucked up love triangle of sorts.

donald glazes the hell out of earnest and desperately wants to be his second in command, but earnest only has eyes for melvin, who is frankly nothing like donald. as usual, that hateful little rat boiled in his jealousy and got kinda nasty with melvin every so often.

as i've mentioned before, donald is religious. quite religious. to the point where he needed to keep the fact he played g&g a secret from his parents (and even then... his rp character was a missionary masquerading as a paladin). hypocritical as always with how he insisted on playing the game with his friends even while looking down on it, but i digress.

religion is: lowkey a touchy subject for melvin for reasons i'm not elaborating on here. but he still went to church. in fact he was an altar boy. did voluntary work. but donald took an issue up with him doing all that while also roleplaying as a fuckin wizard. told him he should stop showing up to service altogether if he wants to indulge in paganism so freely.

needless to say this severely pissed melvin off to the point where he drew that bigass thing on the floor with a stick of charcoal as a Ward Of Banishment. and he looked like a mess doing it. earnest walked in on him all disheveled with no vest and his white shirt and denim covered in black smears. many such cases.

next time donald came down melvin was standing in the middle of that sign shouting YOU SHALL NOT PASS, FUCKHEAD at him. and Damn if that rat didnt scurry right the fuck back out. sputtered some latin prayer all the way home on his bike.

after that donald likely didnt step foot in the comic store again for a long while.

oh my god please save this poor tgirl. she's basically half out of the closet and bullworth is not a good place to be several minorities at once.

the PA announcements call her out twice; one we know as burton broadcasting her gym score, the other being a 'general reminder' for all students to wear uniforms of the correct sex.

she's not even safe in her own clique considering earnest broke her and her surprisingly understanding boyfriend up. (which Melvin damn near tore his ear off for, mind you, but i digress)

on a lighter note, she's also pan, and admittedly a hopeless romantic.

it's very likely she's crushing on beatrice, who was actually the first person she came out to and has been fully supportive since.

How it Started:

so as i've said, tom is one of the latest additions to the bully clique, having relocated into bullworth in his freshman year instead of growing up alongside wade and trent and co.

much like how we've seen happen to jimmy, the bullies and Wade especially thought it was a good idea to jump his ass.

they thought wrong.

with some moves he learned from his older brother tommy kicked wade's ass to the point where he went 'Damn you oughta roll with us'

tom could hold his own against smaller threats sure but he couldn't stand against say, a jock or a greaser even.

and so wade decided to take him under his wing and teach him the slimiest, dirty fighting tricks.

and in turn tom had started feeling comfortable opening up to him. and seeking reassurance for his own masculinity.

minor spoiler: tom's trans too.

How it's Going:

after the initial rumble, wade quickly grew to be one of tom's best friends- one that'd justify him to the end while keepin shit real.

one that would never put down any of his violent outbursts- hell he'd even be the first to back him up.

and eventually, one tom could trust completely.

granted tom never opened up about his gender, mind you, but for the most part? wade would gas him up for damn near everything.

a number of times his reassurance would come in the form of tom's own strength. yeah the above meme is relevant.

typically, and most casually, they'd just bonk their foreheads. other times? wade would insist on getting his nose busted up. again.

toxic masculinity is inescapable, tragically, especially when you're tryin to prove your worth in one of the toughest crowds around.

come to think of it wade is oddly protective of his scrawnier friends in general.

but that isnt to say their roles were set in stone. hell, sometimes tom let wade crash at him and his brother's place when he wanted to get away from home for awhile.

as with the rest of the bullies, they'd bonded like brothers in arms.

tom was included with their blood oath. pack oath. however you wanna call it.

and as such........ whatever happened in the trenches stayed in the trenches. lol.

(granted, it was probably just 'kissin practice' or whatever)

these two are absolutely horrid when it's lunchtime btw. can and will eat gurney out of house and home.

many a hotdog has disappeared under their watch.

movie night is also terrible with em. wade will laugh at the fake gore while tom picks the shitass plots apart.

but all in all, wade was a very solid guy in tom's life. #bros, but given the time period and wretched location they couldn't really flourish as anything more than good friends.

that and wade is one stubborn idiotic bastard that would rather go to prison than have a remotely healthy romance.

his sexism and tom's fear of being outed put him off from getting too close, probably.

pity. maybe in the future and after a lot of therapy.
