So I'm not doing this to publicly shame you, but I want a lot of people to know this: people who have impaired vision and all types of other vision-related disabilities play video games (a lot) (I'm one of them). I have spoken a bit about the mods and settings I use to play Minecraft for photosensitivity, motor skills, and visual/auditory processing - I don't always have that on Tumblr.

Not to mention, there could be something wrong with the loading. There are plenty of other reasons people use captions.

And this is most important. One more person who has this information is one more person who could share this, which is potentially multiple photosensitive lives that can be saved.

last night i had a seizure in the shower

I'm doing a lot better; I think I mentioned that. I changed medication and my seizures are much less frequent - I'm having less than one a week, which hasn't really happened since I started keeping track. My mood is a lot better, too.

Just like, ow, ow, ow, ah son of a bitch I died. Oh now I have to press and hold that button? Fuck. AUgh, can’t do that and aim at the same time. Ow, ow, ow, ok I’m done. 

And like I use every easy mode, god mode thingy I can just to get by. 

But then I was thinking like, I would LOVE to watch a disabled stream gamer (Several! lets see multiple disability experiences! Not just ones like mine) person like, proudly playing games with all the accommodations, and talking about accessibility in gaming and shit. And what games work well for them and what games are surprisingly hard. 

(Yah know what game is a fucking accessibility nightmare (for me, anyway) that no one talks about? God damn ANIMALCROSSING. like it takes so many button presses to get one task done that you need to do millions of times in order to accomplish anything. I like the game, and played it a lot for a little while there, but it was so unnecessarily brutal in that respect. like for the LOVE OF GOD I shouldn’t have to go through this dialogue every time. I shouldn’t have to run all the way back to that other area to get that ticket to go to the other thing. Why do I have to go into the menu to pull out these dumb tools just to get around.)

Like it would be SO cool hearing people talk about like, “ok these are the specific challenges I face, the accommodations that help, and the things I wish devs would add” and like maybe reviewing gaming related assistive tec, or useful mods and shit.
