Kay Davis is an artist with a very intuitive style, like most movements in our culture. It's unique , her style seems to come from within. Her colours are bold and distinctive and most importantly we love her representation of the Black woman. It's self reflective and very much reflects the different skin tones, hair types and energies of Black women in her own unique, bright and bold way Your art is fantastic. ig: @kaydavisartist

This looks like it's going to be a mad ting, LDN is a documentary showing a side of London's music scene that can't be seen on the BBC or Channel 4. It's looks real, raw and uncut and thats what we need. Too much polish and gloss takes away the character and you're going to need some real street recording to match the rawness of London. (The shot of morleys and Gabbies was on point lol) On his page he made it clear that they are doing this off their back, no budget or funding, which I believe will make this project more authentic and great. Desmonds was more than a sitcom, It was a reflection of life and the situation of where we come from, Whether you just arrived or black british born, You could resonate with the characters and jokes, Watch with your fam and relate with your own anecdotes, Well there was a character for everyone, People who spoke just like us, Had dreams just like us, faced similar problems just like us, Not gona lie it had some hard truths that the nation probably didn't swallow, but we loved it, the calypso, the accents, the lingo, the references, the swagger, the freestyles, old African sayings that made you wonder, were they actually real though?... it's a portal to a Peckham before all the gentrification, back when life felt more simple, discrimination was still rampant and cold but their jokes kept you warm doh.

We're not popular but we always pop, everyone wants to be black but no one wants to feel the pain. The pain makes us stronger, the pain helps those around the world who are fighting tyranny relate, and we feel you too fam but understand how much our art means before you label it as just "cool". Our culture lives through our art, our art is our will and it will not be exploited, appropriated or diminished. We are not asking for permission to be accepted, we are telling you it matters because it matters to us.

I'm not sorry if my content offends you, Truth be told this space is necessary, We are Black but most platforms we like are African American, we can relate but most of the time we are learning and not 100% certain. Our skin unites us around the world but our environments are part of our creative ouput, So being Black in Britain we need to see more of us, as its necessary for our scenes to grow organically, where we can feel a full sense of ownership. We need to feel that making it big here means we can make it big anywhere and not feel the need to leave for greener pastures in a place we didn't grow up in. Other nations have their own scenes too and don't take too kindly to outsiders taking a piece of the cake that haven't eaten too. We are from the Caribbean, we are from Africa, yet at times we feel we are not. We live in England but we're reminded that we aren't English.
