JUNO LANGLEY , age twenty ( 20 ) , is a camp counselor at CAMP ST. JAMES during the summer . TIMID and JITTERY , he's always disliked the woods . raised by a single father , his mother passed at a the age of seven ( 7 ) due to lung cancer complications linked to years of smoking ; many attempts were made to quit , and she hardly made it through her pregnancy with juno . as a young child he was often forced to attend different summer camps by his nature-loving father , much to his disdain . being on the quieter side , he was subjected to bullying and being purposefully terrified by the older kids . in an attempt to try to make enough money to survive out on his own , his father suggested he take on the job of summer camp counselor at st. james . little does he know he has to survive more than just his financial struggles , but an escaped prisoner — an entity — who has made his home near the rundown campsite .

His bottom lip quivers as he whimpers and turns his chin up as far as he can from the rustic blade that has been placed to his throat . ❝ P-please . . . Ple-please , I won't tell anyone about this . I pro- I promise — ❞ He's trying to push back the tears , trying to choke back his whimpers and his pleas , but all attempts were futile . This wasn't some movie where he was going to survive miraculously — this was real life , and things like this in real life always ended poorly .

Juno feels the dull edge of the knife be placed against his adam's apple and the tears begin to rush down his face . ❛ You see your little pals over there ? ❜ The man hisses , indicating to the bodies of innocent people piled up in the makeshift bonfire pit . Juno refuses to open his eyes , refuses to look at the physical statistics he knew he would soon be apart of . The man presses the knife closer against his throat and yells now , ❛ Open your fucking eyes , boy ! ❜ He obeys . He can't help but to obey . This wasn't about life or death anymore ; it was about pushing back his demise for as long as possible .
