"Humans never stay sober."

Misconception

At the beginning of Prohibition in the United States, drinking alcohol was never illegalized. It was the manufacturing, selling, and transportation of it. Yet, consumption of it was still so popular, that you could ask your doctor for a prescription for it. However, the results of that era speaks for itself. There was a complete decline in alcohol-related deaths, and...well that's about it. Organized crime became a huge risk, homemade alcohol caused many to catch terrible illnesses, and many turned to harder drugs. The lesson is: Never take alcohol from the North American people.

The Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum capillus-veneris)

During my exploration of Earth's Victorian era, I discovered that humans were fascinated by plants not only for their appearance but for their symbolism. The delicate maidenhair fern was admired for its graceful leaves and was often associated with sincerity and refinement.

Floriography

In the Victorian language of flowers, the fern represented sincerity. Unlike extravagant blooms that demanded attention, the fern grew quietly, often hidden beneath larger plants. However, this fern's stems as said to be as wiry as human hair, earning them the poetic nickname Venus Hair Form.

Scientific Observation

The maidenhair fern is known for its thin, dark stems and fan-shaped leaves. Unlike flowering plants, ferns reproduce through spores rather than seeds, one of the many discoveries that directly incited the pteridomania, or the obsession with ferns.

Fun Fact:

When these plants were first discovered, they were used in an elixir to get rid of baldness. Sadly, it did not work.

Archivist Observation: Humans are unusual creatures. They assign emotions to flowers, preserve fallen leaves between pages, and consider a plant a reminder of another person. Further investigation is required.
