In my little rural neighborhood in Virginia the infrequent snowstorms meant that every dude with a tractor and bulldozer or snowplow or so much as a riding lawnmower with a snowplow would get out and clear the roads and driveways, because the county for sure wasn’t going to do it in a timely fashion and people still needed to work and go to school etc etc. Those of us who did not have snow clearing equipment made coffee and hot chocolate and cookies and when we heard one of them approaching we’d run out with warm drinks and snacks.
