Life is Pretty Odd

GLENN WAS SUPPOSED TO DIE.

He died in the comics the exact same way. You guys forget that this show is based off the comics not based off how the fans feel. They have to do justice to the comics because without it this show would not be here. So you can bitch and whine but EVERY SINGLE TWD comic fan has been waiting for this and we were all very upset that they did a bullshit cliffhanger instead of landing the full blow (haha see what I did there). 

Most of the characters that died in the show have died in the comics. So this was no surprise. I have no clue why everyone thinks the writers of this show made this up lol. Plus, Robert Kirkman is a writer in the show, for those of you who don’t know he is the co-creator of The Walking Dead comics.

Glenn deserved that ending. It was fucking amazing and truly fucking gut wrenching. I don’t mean that this was amazing in the sense that “OMG YAY! HES GETTING HIS BRAINS BASHED IN!!!” but in the sense that they did right by the comic (I even got shook af even though I knew it was going to happen) and captured the atrocity of this world. His ending caused people to actually feel the pain felt by the characters. That is very hard to pull off and it wasn’t just a cheapass death. He could have died a nice peaceful death but in all honesty THAT would have been lazy writing. The impact, the guts, the tears, his last words (”I will find you.”), and him dying in front of all the people he loved, is what he deserved. He deserved that as a character that has been around since season 1. Not the fairytale ending you all think he should have gotten. This isn’t a fairytale this is the zombie fucking apocalypse where humanity has been almost completely lost. Like lol wtf do you expect??????

BTW, Steven Yeun himself has just said on The Talking Dead, LIVE AS I'M WRITING THIS, that he wanted this to happen as gruesome as it was because of the impact it has. He thinks that it was the ending Glenn needed and that he wanted to make it happen the right way.

Also, stop with that “WHY DID THEY FOCUS ON RICK! SEXISM!” bullshit. This show/comic’s MAIN CHARACTER is Rick. It revolves around him! Yes, they have episodes focusing on other characters but for something like this it was appropriate to show his reaction to it all. After all, he is the backbone of the group. If he breaks the whole group breaks.
