This rule applies to Daryl Watts as well. If she wants to play for Troy or Sparre, let her. She scores, yes, but she also had a huge goals/assists drop-off from the previous year, while Turnbull cranked up her game big time. BOTH less-than-10-goal-scorers can be replaced, but I'll mourn Blayre more.

If I'm feeling saucy, I'll also have a good laugh if Watts and KK Harvey end up on the same team together (while fearing the point production possible from said rivalry).

The danger zone for anyone we want to keep is that Hamilton is close enough to Toronto (hours closer than Ottawa is) that I can't see there being much incentive to stay here for familial/life reasons if Hamilton offers up numbers and clauses that beat what the Sceptres offer. More so than any other grouping of teams, Hamilton and Toronto will be death-matching to secure players from one another. I'm glad Hamilton has a team, but from a league competitiveness standpoint, this is another reason it feels like a whiff.

That and Troy cherry picking the players he wants from Toronto for SJ is a huge thing (he stacked Canada with Sceptres and Victoire after all). I know the Tumblr consensus is that we're all supposed to hate him, but the players apparently like him and even though Canada only won silver at the Olympics and Toronto missed the playoffs, the Sceptres were #1 and #2 the first two seasons and he's won 3 world championships AND Olympic gold — fan hatred or no, he's a compelling coach to play for. Crossing my fingers one of Toronto's assistants gets the head coaching gig.

(reminded myself that everyone also hated Sparre when he was announced as Kessel's replacement because eww another man, but Boston rebounding in spectacular fashion this season made everyone a fan of his, making him also a super compelling coach to play for in Hamilton as a result as well).
