First post to this Tumblr and I thought, “Hey, why not make it a shipping post because that’s how to get people to hate or love you!” So here I am with my personal top ten ships from RWBY! These are not listed in order from favourite to least, nor are they anything but my own opinion. (Spoilers, read at your own risk.)
1- Let’s start out with the obvious one. Jaune and Pyrrha. They were so close, and it hurts me to know that it can never be now. Let’s face it, we all knew when she went in the shop had sunk, especially after that kiss. Then Volume 4 with Jaune watching the video over and over? My heart shattered beyond repair.
2- One of the biggest ships to cause discourse among the fans. Sun and Blake. I love them, personally. I think Sun and his bubbly personality is good for Blake, and she takes him down to a deeper level as well. In Volume 3 she blushes when he acknowledges her, and that just made it better for me. Volume 4, despite the bitter attitude she has we can definitely see she cares and he obviously likes her.
3-Ren and Nora. Okay, they even have a song about how much Nora likes him. They’re so cute, and it’s so obvious our little redhead is head over heels for the ninja! I like to believe that he feels the same, but shows it in his own way. (Volume 5 make this official? Please?) 4-Weiss and Ruby. Okay, to be fair, I ship Weiss with practically everyone. She’s such a great character??? I love her? But their whole relationship just makes me want to scream because they can definitely love each other.
5- Mercury and Neo. Okay! This probably seems weird and very out of place since we’ve seen no real interaction between the two. But, from what we see of their personalities, I think they’d be the best partners in crime! (Literally.)
6- Flynt and Neon. Okay. Yes. We have seen them twice, and the second time we had no interaction with them. But they’re so fun, and are obviously a great team on the battlefield. I would love to see them off of it as well.
7-Velvet and Yatsuhashi. It’s clear that they have a close dynamic in what Velvet says. Yatsu keeps her safe when she is unable to use her weapon (which is badass). I appreciate the ways their relationship could go.
8-Coco and Fox. We have seen an interaction with Fox once, yeah. But it was her slapping his ass, and he definitely didn’t seem to mind so. I let my imagination wander.
9- Yang and her metal arm.
Okay, I’m kidding. I actually slightly ship her and Neptune? They just seem like they’d be super cute, and Neptune digs that bike.
And number 10-
Jaune and Cardin.
Super shippable scene when Cardin lovingly grabs Jau-
Alright. No, serious number ten is Penny and Ruby. (Yes I know Penny is dead but I hold onto hope so hear me out.) Okay, so Ruby is Penny’s first (and pretty much only) friend. It would be easy for them to grow closer and develop that friendship into more than close friends.
