“if i was a trilingual you’d know by now, i would have insulted you in the language just to confuse you.” cheyenne replied with a laugh, “i guess you’ll just be leading us on some random adventure then.”

“why am i the leader? that’s not fair - it was your idea to explore!”

“well we’re a far cry from anywhere so i’ll be no help either. do you know the language here? maybe we could ask someone. if not i guess we could just wander around.”

“chey... we speak all the same languages i think - english and korean? unless you’re a secret trilingual...”

cheyenne let out a soft laugh as she looked at kyle, “well now that you know you’re leading me where would you like to go that we can walk to?”

kyle pursed his lips before shrugging, “i’m not... too sure... the only places i know are seoul and rhode island, and we’re not in either of them.”

“what do you mean? i was following you this entire time…” she said, stopping in her tracks to look at kyle.

“i didn’t know i was leading this! that’s not fair to look at me like that...”

“do you know how long us exploring is gonna take? i said to the manager of the trainees i wouldn’t be too long...”

“One of the few downsides I’ve encountered so far while being under Gaia is that everyone who didn’t know me before seemed surprised that I was Korean. I mean sure they’re known for saving foreign artists and groups but they can still save Koreans from their old companies.”

“but baekhyung isn’t even a foreign name...and your move from ds to gaia was pretty high-public considering you were a long time ds trainee...”

“you gotta think positively. it’s not like you suck or anything - things will start going better for you soon, as long as you think they will.”

“i guess you’re right. how’re you feeling about the show so far?”

“Not in regards to training, but they definitely found out information about me before it was even revealed through the company.”

“maybe they were anticipating you that much?”

“yep! i’m on his team– he’s one of my producers,” she said excitedly. “oh– this past episode too, he even helped me write, and he got to perform onstage with me. it was probably the best stage i’ve ever done ever– i’m so glad it’s going to be on tv so i can remember it forever….” her eyes widened, and she immediately went quiet. “oh….i’m sorry.”

“that’s....that’s amazing,” kyle said, smiling. “is it gonna be a thing you’ll rewatch over and over again?” he too fell silent and shrugged, shaking his head lightly. “i... uh... it’s fine. i didn’t mean to drop that bomb so quickly.” he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, “d’you think you can win being on your dad’s team?”

“oh, is that what it was?”

“yeah, we can go with that.”
