i’m sorry you feel that way. first of all, i apologize if this is lame advice and not exactly what you needed or were expecting, but this is what worked for me. however, keep in mind i’m not a professional and if you need serious help, please seek it. don’t be afraid to get therapy or call a help line, help is out there.

something that i like to live by is, fake it til you make it. don’t let the negative thoughts in, surround yourself by positive ones even if they have to be sarcastic at first. that’s how i started out, all of the positive things i said were joking, until one day… i wasn’t joking anymore. if you say something to yourself enough times, you will start to believe it. it will become the truth. this is how it’s so easy to get trapped in negativity, but it works the opposite way as well.

is there something you enjoy doing, or something you’re really looking forward to? i find things such as painting, drawing, writing, and reading books/poetry to be really relaxing, positive hobbies. when you find yourself mindlessly going through the days, you could try to focus on something you really enjoy doing.

women of colour are hypersexualised and objectified in different ways because of our race, but our universal experience is based on how our culture promotes the idea that our bodies are for male consumption. as an asexual woman of colour, it means that our lack of sexual attraction is seen as something to be conquered, or fixed, or a wrong to be righted. for white men, it’s another space to colonise. 

so when the predominantly white ace discourse brings up again and again that “acephobia isn’t real” calls ace people “straight people who don’t have sex”, you’re erasing the way many ace woc are trying to navigate our bodies and sexual agency as asexuals. don’t derail this by saying what we face “isn’t acephobia, just misogyny”, we’re facing intersections of both that have arisen from a culture of compulsory heterosexuality and white supremacy. many asexual women of colour have talked about it and you do not get to silence our voices. 

I’m talking about the multi-millionaire/billionaire CEOs, politicians, and media moguls. This isn’t about your uncle who’s a surgeon and saves people’s lives. Please don’t misinterpret that. They’re not nearly on the same scale of “wealthy”.

With no exaggeration, these few people could give away almost all of their money, sell off almost everything else and give that away, and instantly double the quality of living of over 3.5 billion people, AND still be more wealthy than any of those 3.5 billion people, AND still be more wealthy than almost anyone else on Earth, AND still have all of the intangible wealth, social connections, and reputation that would allow them to quickly, if not instantly, acquire any amount of money they could ever need. If they didn’t feel like giving it away, they could still hire half the people on Earth to work full time to do whatever job they had in mind, profit off their labor, and still pay a better wage than they’re making now, which would make them more likely to live longer and want to maintain a better lifestyle, and thus buy more things, enriching the wealthy even more.
