The themes, the writing, and the effects make Hellraiser a much more interesting and meaty horror series to dissect over several hours than it's dumber slasher counterparts. However, maybe because of Clive Baker's absence or because it only covers the first 2 films, I found Leviathan far less charming and entertaining than Crystal Lake Memories and Never Sleep Again.

A clean, unrestricted, and well put together thriller with two of the most charismatic leads around. Maybe there aren't enough winks to the fans, but I don't get all the hate for this one.

The scene where a priest, pastor, and rabbi critique Jesus' portrayal in a studio's new flagship film is just one example of what makes Hail, Caesar! one of the funniest of the Coen's films, but, like most of their recent output, it's the bigger themes lurking below the highly entertaining surface that will have me revisiting it again and again.

Far from the most riveting documentary ever made, but the cosmic artists behind the comic book British Invasion of the late 80's are near and dear to my heart, and sadly underappreciated compared to their Silver & Golden Age counterparts, so I'll happily gobble up anything on the subject.

For my Federation Credits, Khan isn't quite as fun as The Voyage Home, but it's fast-paced blend of high stakes space adventure and sweet character moments is certain to please Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike. I love the ear worms, Kirk's tear jerkin' eulogy, and the sparingly used, but visually striking effects shots.

I loved the simplicity of this creepy plot and some of the stylistic choices (VCRs & motel manager mustaches), but the annoying bickering leads, the tonally weird and unsatisfying conclusion, and the opening credits (a poor Adobe After Effects Saul Bass rip-off), really brought Vacancy down for me.
