i don’t have a full bio for her yet, but i’ve got a pretty extensive stats page here and a pinterest board here. i’ll quit rambling now and give y’all the tl;dr on my gal!

cordelia ‘delia’ wildes. 32. witch. supreme of the wildes coven and owner of tamed wildes.

delia was born in georgia where her bio mom met her bio dad. she was then adopted as a baby. putting delia up for adoption was her mother’s attempt to hide the fact that she gave birth/had a descendant to her bloodline. distrust in witches is a common occurrence, but delia’s mother took her distrust of others and paranoia to a whole new level.

delia grew up in a super small town in ga, unaware of her origins. despite not knowing what she was, delia always knew she was different. she was adopted by a southern baptist minister and his family, as if to prove how pious they really were to their congregation. 

she was never treated poorly, per se, but delia was constantly reminded of how much of a burden she was because of how little she fit in. one of the only things that saved delia growing up was her garden. it didn’t matter how close to death a plant was, delia could seemingly nurse it back to health. she always managed to grow the biggest squashes and pumpkins - so much so that she became quite the celebrity at the local county fair. 

that garden, though, was the only place she ever truly found peace during her childhood and is one of the few fond memories she has of her time with her adoptive family. she refuses to speak ill of them, despite the damage they did to her self-esteem and self worth, because they gave her a “home” and ya girl is obsessed with the idea of home and family, so she clings to even the most toxic version of them.

as soon as she turned 18, delia went to find her bio parents. she never found er father, but she blew up her whole world when she found her mom in salem, virginia. finding out that her mother was not only a witch, but also the supreme of their coven was both the scariest and most exciting thing. it was also a huge relief - delia finally found out why she never really fit in growing up. there wasn’t a second thought in sight when delia decided to stay with her mother ( and aunt that lived with her ) and begin learning the craft.

she’d obviously always had a green thumb, but it was during that time that delia found that she could manipulate the earth, namely plants and organic elements. she also excelled at brew potions and elixirs - ones she now sells as teas and tinctures in her shop. she’s a gifted healer as well, but that doesn’t come nearly as naturally as her other abilities and takes much more energy than her natural gifts. delia tries her best to use her healing abilities as scarcely as possible because of how quickly they drain her.

for five years delia lived with and learned from her mother and aunt, soaking in every lesson they could bestow upon her before delia’s mother grew ill and passed. her death shattered delia - they’d grown unbelievably close over their five years together and the loss felt like a limb being amputated. 

despite being the direct descendant of the coven’s supreme and the rightful heir, cordelia didn’t feel ready to take up the mantle and asked her aunt to take her place until she was ready. 

when her aunt took over as supreme, she moved the coven to roseport where they’ve been for the last 9 years. during that time delia finally felt like she’d found the place where she was meant to be - where she was needed. she can’t explain it, but delia doesn’t plan on leaving roseport any time soon, despite the threat VIGILANTE poses.

just within the last few years, delias aunt grew ill just as her mother had. luckily, her healing abilities had grown even more impressive and she was able to stop the illness from taking her aunt as rapidly as it had her mother. despite cordelia being able to stave off the inevitable for a while longer, she did eventually have to take her rightful place as supreme of their coven. shortly after, delia’s aunt passed, leaving her to lead their coven as best she can. 

owns a little cottage off the lake and away from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk. it’s literally filled to the bring with plants and herbs and there are always at least six stray cats sleeping on her stoop at any given time. delia is the future crazy cat lady living in the woods. it’s fine.

is 100% the quirky, eccentric shop keeper that no one really knows how to feel about? but her bubbly, kind personality makes up for her oddball nature. 

because she grew up outside the world of the supernatural, she’s much more trusting of those outside her coven. she knows some view it as a weakness - a soft spot for those with ill intentions to take advantage of. delia, though, believes it to be a strength - a starting point to help bring the supernatural community together again. that’s the hill she’s dyin’ on! 

insecure as hell, though she tries like hell to hide it.

plot/connection ideas!

regulars at the shop! she’s got the usual new age-y stuff for tourists, but delia also keeps all sorts of remedies and potions for those who know what to ask for.

gimmie someone who absolutely cannot stand her and her sunshine-y disposition.  

former flings? hook-ups? as much as delia aches for romantic love, she just hasn’t found the time to really devote to trying to find someone. she does get attached fairly quickly, so she’ll probably always have a special place in her heart for everyone she links up with but...a girl also has needs, ya feel?

allies!! give. ya girl. some allies. she genuinely wants to find a way to reach a peaceful resolution to everything going on, but she knows she can’t do it by herself.
